Sabah Football Club Sdn Bhd (Sabah FC Sdn Bhd) is a Sabahan limited liability sports and club holding company based in Sabah, Malaysia with a Company Registration Number 1383683U. [1] [2] [3] (Sdn Bhd stands for Sendirian Berhad or private company in English). Formerly known as the North Borneo Football Association and then the Sabah Football Association (SAFA) by the Sabah government, The Sabah Football Club Sendirian Berhad (Sdn Bhd) being separated from the football state association and it became a private independent company in 2021 by the Sabahan sports organisation holder to become an individual company that holds Sabah youth and sports clubs different than the football state association. It is also used as the home stadium of the Sabah FA Women's Team as they host clubs for the Malaysia National Women's League and the AFC Women's Champions League 2024. Verdon bin Bahanda is a Malaysian politician, businessman and indigenous activist who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kudat since November 2022. He served as the chief executive officer (CEO) and director of Sabah Football Club Sdn Bhd from November 2020 to his resignation in December 2020. He was also the owner of the Sabah Football Club Sdn Bhd after its privatisation in November 2020 (Officially in 2021). He is presently the only independent MP, one of the two independent candidates who was elected in the 2022 general election along with Tenom MP Riduan Rubin who is a former member of the Social Democratic Harmony Party (KDM) and Verdon is the first independent Kudat MP in the Malaysian history. He is also the younger brother of Wetrom Bahanda, the Kota Marudu MP and Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Bandau.
