The 1920 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the VII Olympiad, were an international multi-sport event in 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium.
Shooting at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal comprised seven events, all mixed. For the first time ever, a woman won an Olympic medal in shooting: Margaret Murdock caught the silver in the three positions event. Lanny Bassham and Murdock tied for the first place, but Murdock was placed second after review of the targets. Bassham suggested that two gold medals be given, and after this request was declined, asked Murdock to share the top step with him at the award ceremony. Women had no separate shooting events at the time and were allowed to compete with men. Murdock became the first woman to win an Olympic medal in shooting.
New Zealand at the 1968 Summer Olympics was represented by a team of 52 competitors, 47 men and five women, who took part in 26 events across eight sports. Selection of the team for the Games in Mexico City, Mexico, was the responsibility of the New Zealand Olympic and British Commonwealth Games Association. New Zealand's flagbearer at the opening ceremony was Don Oliver. The New Zealand team finished 27th on the medal table, winning a total of three medals, one of which was gold.

Tracey Claire Fuchs is a former field hockey midfielder from the United States, who was a member of the US women's team that finished fifth at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. She also competed in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, where Team USA finished in eighth and last position. She also played for the 1994 World Cup team that won the bronze medal. She won a bronze medal at the 1995 Pan American Games.

The men's shot put event was part of the track and field athletics programme at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland. The competition was held on 21 July at Helsinki Olympic Stadium. The finals were swept by the United States, with Americans Parry O'Brien taking the gold medal, Darrow Hooper earning silver and Jim Fuchs receiving his second consecutive bronze medal in the event.

The women's javelin throw field event at the 1972 Olympic Games took place on August 31 & September 1. On 11 June 1972 Ewa Gryziecka from Poland broke the javelin throw world record with a throw of 62.70m only to have Ruth Fuchs break that record on the same day with a throw of 65.06m. In 1972 Fuchs was the strong favorite heading in the Olympics. Kate Schmidt took the early lead on the first throw, but this was soon passed by the favorite on the second throw. She ended up topping her own mark two more time in rounds four and five. Fuchs would go one and set the new javelin world record in 1973, 1974 and 1976.
Bhutan competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This marked the nation's eighth appearance at the Summer Olympics since its debut in the 1984 Summer Olympics, and the first in which the nation competed in a sport other than archery. The Bhutanese delegation included archer Sherab Zam and shooter Kunzang Choden. Zam was the flag bearer for both the opening and closing ceremonies. Neither of Bhutan's athletes progressed beyond the first round of their events. Bhutan was one of only two countries to have a female-only team at the 2012 Games.

Sabina Veit is a Slovenian sprinter. She set a personal best and an Olympic A-standard time of 22.74 seconds, by winning the 200 metres at the Slovenian Open Athletics Championships, coincidentally in her home city. She also won a bronze medal in the same distance at the 2009 Summer Universiade in Belgrade, finishing her time at 23.34 seconds.
Sabina Mikina is an Azerbaijani sabre fencer. Mikina represented Azerbaijan at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where she competed in the women's individual sabre event. She defeated Hungarian-born German fencer Alexandra Bujdoso in the first preliminary round, before losing out her next match to Ukraine's Olga Kharlan, with a final score of 10–15.

Sabina Telenská is a Czech rower. She competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona for Czechoslovakia with the women's eight where they came eighths. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, she competed for the Czech Republic in the coxless pair where they came ninth.
Grant Taylor is a New Zealand sports shooter. He competed in the men's 50 metre running target event at the 1976 Summer Olympics.
