Government Sadiq Dane High School, also known as S. D. High School, is a high school located in Bahawalpur, Punjab, Pakistan. [1] [2] It is the largest school in Bahawalpur with over 2000 students currently enrolled. The building of the school is well known for its clocks. [1] [3]
The S.D. High School building, completed in 1906, initially housed the first-ever college, named Sadiq Egerton College Bahawalpur, within the territory stretching from Bahawalpur to Sadiqabad and Mandi Mcleod Ganj in the Bahawalnagar district. [1] It bore the names of the late Nawab Muhammad Sadiq Khan Abbasi and Robert Eyles Egerton, then Lt Governor of Punjab. [1] Following the college's relocation in 1952-53, the building was repurposed for the S.D. High School, which moved from the nearby Government Technical High School. [1] It was initially known as Sadiq Darul Aqama. [4]
The building has a clock that was made by the Bing Bang Company of Britain. [5] The school was inaugurated by Louis Dane on February 13, 1911, and is named after him and Nawab of Bahawalpur. [5]

General Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan V Abbasi was the 12th and final Nawab (ruler) of the state of Bahawalpur from February 1907 to October 1955, and then as a titular figure until his death in 1966.
Nawab Salahuddin Ahmed Abbasi is a Member of Parliament in Pakistan. He is also the grandson of Sadeq Mohammad Khan V, who was the last ruling Nawab of the Princely State Bahawalpur. He has been elected five times as Member of National Assembly from the city Ahmadpur East. He is also the Chief of Bahawalpur National Awami Party (BNAP) which is allied with Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf. It is named after the Nawab of Bahawalpur Nawab Sadiq Mohammad Khan Abbasi IV and Lieutenant Governor of the Punjab Sir Robert Eyles Egerton. Sadiq Muhammad Khan IV was the 10th Nawab of Bahawalpur who ruled the Bahawalpur State from 1879 to 1899 under the supervision of the British Raj. He died in 1899 and was succeeded by his eldest son Bahawal Khan V.
