Safari TV Channel is an Indian non-profit television channel broadcasting in Malayalam language. It is an exploration channel based in Marangattupilly, Kottayam, Kerala. [1] The channel is part of Safari Multimedia Pvt.Ltd, India. A TV channel running without advertising, Safari TV does not accept ads. [2]

History

Safari TV was launched by Santosh George Kulangara on 1 November 2013.

Branding

The Swahili word safari means journey. It originated from the Arabic word safar. These words became used for any type of journey.

The theme song, Neelakasha pookkal nullan was written by poet P K Gopi, composed and sung by Nandhu Kartha.

Sancharam (transl. Travel) is an Indian Malayalam-language travel documentary telecast on Safari TV. The program was shot, edited and directed by Santhosh George Kulangara. It airs at 09:30 pm and 10 pm (IST) every weekday and is re-telecast the next day four times. It originally aired on Asianet on Sundays, and now airs on Safari TV, which is owned by Kulangara. An internet edition of Sancharam is also available free of cost. It is said to be the first internet television in Kerala.

Santhosh George Kulangara is an Indian traveller, television producer, director, broadcaster, editor, and publisher. He is the founder and managing director of Safari TV, a channel dedicated to travel and history-based programmes. Kulangara also serves as the head of Labour India Publications, an educational publisher for school children. As of 2021, Kulangara had travelled to more than 130 countries and his journeys are telecast through Sancharam, the first travel documentary in Malayalam.

It stars Mohanlal, Ratheesh, Ambika and Mohan Jose. In the film, Vincent Gomes sets out to exact revenge against Home Minister N. Krishnadas.

<i>No. 20 Madras Mail</i> 1990 Indian film

No. 20 Madras Mail is a 1990 Indian Malayalam-language comedy thriller film directed by Joshiy and written by Dennis Joseph from a story by Harikumar. The film stars Mohanlal in lead role and Jagadish, Maniyanpilla Raju, M. G. Soman, Ashokan, and Suchitra Murali in supporting roles, while Mammootty appears in an extended cameo as himself. The background score was composed by S. P. Venkatesh while the song was composed by Ouseppachan. The plot follows three youngsters who are embroiled in the murder mystery of a young woman in a train journey from Thiruvananthapuram to Madras. No.20 Madras Mail was released on 16 February 1990 and received positive reviews. Almost half of the film was shot inside a train. Four years later, the film was remade in Hindi as Teesra Kaun by Partho Ghosh.
