Sahajatri was a Bengali drama film directed by Agradoot. [1] This movie was released on 10 March 1951 under the banner of M. P. Productions Pvt. Ltd. The music direction was done by Rabin Chattopadhyay. [2] This movie stars Uttam Kumar, Molina Devi, Bharati Devi, Sabitri Chatterjee and Kamal Mitra in the lead roles. First time Uttam Kumar appeared to this name and kept it permanently from change to Arup Kumar. This was the first ever collaborations of Uttam Kumar and Agradoot. Unfortunately the film was disappointed in the box office [3] [4]

The film become overwhelming success from both critically and commercially. The movie was remade in Hindi in 1967 as Chhoti Si Mulaqat also starring Uttam Kumar. Before that the movie was simultaneously made into a 1959 Telugu - Tamil bilingual titled Mangalya Balam in Telugu and Manjal Mahimai in Tamil.

This was the first film of Uttam Kumar to win a National Award.

This movie was released on 1954 in the banner of Nirmal Dey Productions. The music direction was done by Manabendra Mukhopadhyay.
