Carol Elizabeth Heiss Jenkins is an American former figure skater and actress. Competing in ladies' singles, she became the 1960 Olympic champion, the 1956 Olympic silver medalist, and a five-time World champion (1956–1960).
Maribel Yerxa Vinson-Owen was an American figure skater and coach. She competed in the disciplines of ladies' singles and pair skating. As a single skater, she was the 1932 Olympic bronze medalist, a two-time World medalist, the 1937 North American champion, and a nine-time U.S. national champion. As a pair skater, she was the 1935 North American champion and four-time national champion with George Hill. She also won two national titles with Thornton Coolidge. She was the first female sportswriter at The New York Times, and continued competing and winning medals while working as a full-time reporter.
Alexandra Pauline "Sasha" Cohen is an American figure skater. She is the 2006 Olympic silver medalist, a three-time World Championship medalist, the 2003 Grand Prix Final Champion, and the 2006 U.S. Champion. She is known for her artistry, flexibility and body lines, and musical interpretation. As of 2021, Cohen is the most recent American woman to medal individually in figure skating at the Olympics.
Sjoukje Rosalinde Dijkstra is a Dutch former competitive figure skater. She is the 1964 Olympic champion in ladies' singles, the 1960 Olympic silver medalist, a three-time World champion (1962–1964), five-time European champion (1960–1964), and the six-time Dutch national champion (1959–1964).
Maria Jelinek is a Canadian former pair skater. With her brother Otto, she is the 1962 World champion, the 1961 North American champion, and 1961–1962 Canadian national champion. They represented Canada at the 1960 Winter Olympics, where they placed 4th.
Renée Roca is an American ice dancer and choreographer. She is a three-time U.S. national champion with different partners. Competing with partner Donald Adair, she is the 1986 U.S. national champion. She later teamed up with Russian skater Gorsha Sur, with whom she is the 1993 and 1995 U.S. national champion.
Barbara Aileen Wagner is a Canadian former pair skater. She teamed up with Robert Paul in 1952. They became the 1960 Olympic champions, four-time World champions, and five-time Canadian national champions. After retiring from competition, the pair toured with Ice Capades.

Lorraine Hanlon Comanor is an American retired figure skater who competed in ladies singles. She is the 1963 U.S. national champion. After retiring from ice skating, Hanlon went on to attend medical school and practiced as an anesthesiologist for 20 years before going into pharmaceutical medicine. She is board certified in anesthesia.
Caitlin Yankowskas is an American pair skater. She competed for the United States with John Coughlin from 2007 to 2011. They are the 2010 Cup of China bronze medalists and 2011 U.S. national champions. With partner Hamish Gaman, Yankowskas skated for the United Kingdom. They are the 2015 Challenge Cup silver medalists and 2015 British national champions.
Melissa Mary Militano is an American former competitive figure skater who competed as a single skater and pair skater. As a pair skater, she won the U.S. Figure Skating Championships three times, in 1973 with her brother Mark Militano and in 1974 and 1975 with Johnny Johns. Their coaches included Peter Dunfield and Ron Ludington.
Judianne Fotheringill is an American pair skater. With brother Jerry Fotheringill, she is the 1963 and 1964 U.S. national champion. They represented the United States at the 1964 Winter Olympics where they placed 7th.
The Bay State Games are an Olympic-style athletic event for amateur athletes in the state of Massachusetts, which includes several divisions and allows athletes of all ages to compete. The Games are divided into Summer and Winter Games. The Summer Games include 25 sports and are usually held in late July. The Winter Games include three different sports and are usually held in late January or early February. The Bay State Games is a member of the National Congress of State Games. Paulette Doan is a Canadian former ice dancer. She competed with Kenneth Ormsby. Together, they were the 1963 and 1964 Canadian champions and in those years won bronze and silver medals (respectively) at the World Figure Skating Championships.
Stanley Urban is an American former ice dancer. With Sally Schantz, he won the 1963 U.S. Championships, and later won a further two medals at the U.S. Championships competing with his sister Susan Urban.
The 1963 U.S. Figure Skating Championships was held at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, California from January 7-10, 1963. Medals were awarded in three colors: gold (first), silver (second), and bronze (third) in four disciplines – men's singles, ladies singles, pair skating, and ice dancing – across three levels: senior, junior, and novice.
