Early life

Salma was born on 10 August 1965 in Karachi, Pakistan. [2] She completed her studies from University of Karachi. [4] She started acting in theater. [5] [6] [7]

Career

Salma then appeared in dramas on PTV such as Aahat, Nijaat , Khala Kulsum Ka Kumba, Paadash, Bewafaiyan and Tumse Kehna Tha . [8] [9] [10] She was noted for her role in drama Lyari Express on PTV. [11] [12] She also appeared in the drama Yeh Zindagi Hai and Yeh Zindagi Hai Season 2 as Saeeda which was the longest-running television series. [2] [13] Since then she has appeared in dramas Ghar Damad, Mera Kiya Qasoor, Aslam Bahi & Company, Rishtey Kachay Dhagoon Se and Bubbly Kya Chahti Hai. [14] [15] [16] [17]

Personal

She was married to Tariq Mehmood for 22 years. They are divorced and have two daughters. [2] Salma's father Zafar Khursheed was a music composer who composed tunes for advertisements Tullo Oil and Lipton Tea. [1] [18] Salma's father died in 1970s when she was young. [19] [20] [21]

Yeh Zindagi Hai is a Pakistani Urdu language comedy-drama television series that showed on Geo Entertainment from 2008 to 2013. It initially starred Javeria Saud, Saud Qasmi, Moammar Rana, Hina Dilpazeer, and Sana Fakhar. It became one of the longest-running television series in the history of Pakistani television, showing for six and a half years with more than 300 episodes. Yeh Zindagi Hai was hugely popular from its premier and made its leading actress, Javeria Saud, an overnight star.

Javeria Saud is a Pakistani television actress, producer, screenwriter, singer, and host. She is best known for playing the protagonist Jameela in Geo TV's television drama series Yeh Zindagi Hai (2008–13). She is married to the film and television actor Saud, with whom she owns the production house JJS Productions since 2006 in the Pakistani entertainment industry. She took a break from acting in 2001, and made a comeback in 2006. In 2011, she co-produced Khuda Aur Muhabbat with Babar Javed.

Sabir Zafar is a leading poet and lyricist in Pakistan. He has written songs for many Pakistani films, and pop singers, such as Nazia Hasan, Sajjad Ali, Ali Azmat and his band Junoon, as well as many successful TV drama serials. He was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan in 2010.
