Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil derived from the mesocarp of the fruit of the oil palms. The oil is used in food manufacturing, in beauty products, and as biofuel. Palm oil accounted for about 33% of global oils produced from oil crops in 2014. Palm oils are easier to stabilize and maintain quality of flavor and consistency in processed foods, so are frequently favored by food manufacturers. On average globally, humans consumed 7.7 kg (17 lb) of palm oil per person in 2015. Demand has also increased for other uses, such as cosmetics and biofuels, creating more demand on the supply encouraging the growth of palm oil plantations in tropical countries.

In the Malay language, the word Kubu can mean defensive fortification, entrenchment, or a place of refuge. It is metaphor for how the majority and dominant Islamic Melayu villagers believe them to use the interior forests as a means for resisting inclusion in the larger Malay social and Islamic religious world. Bukit Duabelas is a relatively small national park covering 605 km² in Sumatra, Indonesia. It is representative of lowland tropical rain forests in the province of Jambi. November 2016 Jakarta protests refer to an Islamist mass protest which took place on 4 November 2016 in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was attended by an estimated 50,000–200,000 protesters, and was aimed against the Governor of Jakarta Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, for alleged blasphemy of the Quran, the Islamic holy book. A counter-protest led by government officials and social activists in support of interfaith unity was led on 30 November.

In both competitions, Lyodra practiced the use of the whistle register, which is the highest range of the human voice higher than falsetto. She was awarded "Best Children Female Solo Artist" from 20th Anugerah Musik Indonesia Awards, and "Best New Asian Artist in Indonesia" from 2021 Mnet Asian Music Award. In addition, Lyodra was nominated for "Best Southeast Asian Act" from 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Feminism in Indonesia refers to the long history of discourse for gender equality to bring about positive social change in Indonesia. The issues women in Indonesia currently are facing include gender violence, underage marriages, and lack of representation in the political system. Feminism and the women's right movement began during colonial Indonesia under Dutch rule and were spearheaded by the national heroine Kartini, a Javanese noblewoman who advocated for the education of all women and girls regardless of social status. In the early 19th century, women's rights organizations and movements were allowed to developed under Budi Utomo, the first Indonesian Nationalist organization. Modern day Indonesian feminism include and are influenced by both fundamentalist and progressive Islamic women's organizations.

On 25 October 2022, at around 7:00 am Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7), an attempted shooting occurred in front of the Istana Negara in Jakarta, Indonesia. A female assailant trespassed the Istana Negara security layer and attempted to shoot the President and/or Presidential Guard using an FN HP-DA Pistol. President of Indonesia Joko Widodo was not in the Istana Negara at the time of attack as he was visiting East Kalimantan and Nusantara. The assailant was apprehended immediately by the Presidential Guard (Paspampres) and Indonesian National Police on the scene and is currently detained at Metro Jaya Region Police HQ.
