Samuel Attwater (born 10 April 1986) [2] is an English actor and singer who played Leon Small in the British soap opera EastEnders and its online spin-off EastEnders: E20 .

He won the sixth series of Dancing on Ice in March 2011 and participated in the 'All Stars' series in 2014. He was eliminated 11th, finishing in 4th place.

Career

Acting

Attwater trained at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and went on to star in musicals such as Tonight's the Night , 12 Tenors, 20th Century Boy, and Our Benny. [3] He appeared as a dancer in Bollywood film Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and featured in four episodes of Hollyoaks in 2009, playing Ricky. [3] [4] In January 2010 he starred in the EastEnders spin-off EastEnders: E20 as Leon Small and went on to become a regular cast member in EastEnders, [5] but was axed in May 2010, [6] making his last on-screen appearance on 30 September 2010. [7]

Singing

Attwater's debut EP, Breaking Boundaries, was released on 24 January 2011. [8]

Dancing on Ice

In December 2010, it was announced that Attwater would be competing in the sixth series of Dancing on Ice in 2011. [9] Attwater was partnered by neon figure skater Brianne Delcourt. [10] Attwater won the series on 27 March 2011, beating Laura Hamilton in the final. He then went on to perform alongside gold medal winning skaters Torvill and Dean, on the Dancing on Ice Live Tour 2011, touring around the UK performing at arenas such as the Birmingham NIA and Wembley Stadium.

Sam finished fourth in the 'All Stars' series of Dancing on Ice with his fiance Vicky Ogden after they lost out to Ray Quinn and his partner Maria Filippov but head judge Robin Cousins praised Sam and his skating work.

West End

On 18 July 2011, Sam made his West End debut playing the character of "Norman" in hit West End musical "Dreamboats & Petticoats" at the Playhouse Theatre. He also performed "The Wanderer" a song from the musical, on ITV's "This Morning" on 4 August 2011. He then also appeared on "The Alan Titchmarsh Show" performing with some of the cast of Dreamboats and Petticoats, on 13 October 2011.

Between September 2013 and February 2014, Sam has appeared as Adam Pontipee in a nationwide tour of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. [11]

From January 2020 to February 2020, Sam starred in a West End adaptation of Rags the Musical where he played “Micheal the moustache man”

Personal life

Sam married Vicky Ogden in 2014, making them the first Dancing on Ice couple to marry. In 2016, Ogden gave birth to their two daughters.

Arthur "Fatboy" Chubb is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders and its Internet spin-off EastEnders: E20, played by Ricky Norwood. He made his first appearance in EastEnders on 5 January 2010 before appearing in the spin-off. Fatboy is one of four main characters in the first series of E20 and makes cameo appearances in the second and third series. He was created by the EastEnders: E20 writing team during a BBC summer school in August 2009. He frequently uses London street slang and is described as brash, confident, caring, a hustler and a womaniser. Norwood won the Best Newcomer award at the 2010 Inside Soap Awards and Most Popular Newcomer at the 2011 National Television Awards for his portrayal of Fatboy, and has been nominated for two further awards. Sol is a main character in series 2, where he is joined by his older brother Asher Levi and their new friends Naz Mehmet and Stevie Dickinson. Sol is described as loyal, shy, thoughtful and reserved. He is dependent on his brother, who has looked after him for most of this life. Throughout the series, he has a romance with Naz but it is threatened by his bad temper, falls out but later reunites with his brother, and performs a solo dance routine in the finale.

The sixth series of Dancing on Ice aired from 9 January to 27 March 2011, on ITV. Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby returned as hosts, while Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean returned as mentors. As part of a major revamp, the show moved from Elstree Studios to Shepperton Studios, where they unveiled a new set. It was the also the first series to be broadcast in HD.

The seventh series of Dancing on Ice aired from on 8 January to 25 March 2012, on ITV. Phillip Schofield returned as presenter, but Holly Willoughby was replaced by Christine Bleakley. Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean returned to mentor the celebrities, with Karen Barber returning as head coach. This series was judged by Robin Cousins, Louie Spence, and Katarina Witt. The show moved back to its original location of Elstree Studios, which had been used during the show's first five series, but still used the same layout introduced in the previous series.

The thirteenth series of Dancing on Ice debuted on ITV on 17 January 2021. During the finale of the twelfth series, it was announced that Dancing on Ice had been renewed for another series. The series was once again filmed in the purpose-built studio at Bovingdon Airfield, which had been set up for the tenth series. Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby returned as hosts, while Ashley Banjo, John Barrowman, Christopher Dean, and Jayne Torvill returned as judges.
