Sam Stein is an American journalist, [1] who has worked for The Bulwark, [2] [3] as an MSNBC contributor, [4] for Politico, the Huffington Post, Newsweek magazine, the New York Daily News, The Daily Beast and the Center for Public Integrity. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 2004 [5] and earned a masters from the Columbia University School of Journalism in 2007. [6]

As of June 2024 he is the managing editor of the Bulwark; [2] [3] before that he was Politico White House editor starting in January 2021, and according to Dartmouth Alumni magazine he was politics editor for the Daily Beast for 3 1/2 years, [7] 2017-20; White House correspondent/politics editor, for The Huffington Post for 10 years, [7] 2007-17; intern at Newsweek in 2007; press secretary for Center for Public Integrity in 2005; intern, New York Daily News from 2004-05.
