Babu Thiruvalla is an Indian film producer, director, and scriptwriter who works in Malayalam films. He produced films such as Oru Minnaminunginte Nurungu Vettam (1987) and Amaram (1991) under the banner Symphony Creations. Most of the films he produced got either State(Kerala) or National(India) award in some category. His first directorial venture 'Thaniyae' bagged more than 20 Awards including State Award and Indian Panorama.His directorial venture Thanichalla Njan (2012) won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration. He was a Jury member for selecting Indian film for the Oscar award 2016. Latest venture in film field was with doing a segment for Crossroad in directorial role.

Jayaram Indian actor

Jayaram Subramaniam, known mononymously as Jayaram, is an Indian actor who predominantly appears in Malayalam films and sometimes in Tamil films. He is also a chenda percussionist, an impressionist, and occasional playback singer. Jayaram has acted in more than 200 films and has received several awards, including the Padma Shri, two Kerala State Film Awards, two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, and four Filmfare Awards South.

Plot

Skaria is a plantation owner and has other businesses. Skaria and Annakutty has a daughter Elsamma. She is a college student and her father has high hopes about Elsamma. A new sports coach, Johnson comes to the college and she falls in love with him. When Skaria comes to know about it Skaria makes arrangements for his daughter's marriage to someone of his choice before things get worse. Meanwhile, a close friend of the family and a lecturer at the college, a priest, Fr. Puthentara betrays Skaria's friendship and helps Johnson and Elsamma to get married. Soon after that he leaves the place for higher studies. Both Johnson and Elsamma move to Chennai. Skaria is further depressed. Slowly Annakutty falls ill and is bedridden and she wishes to see her daughter. Skaria is confident that he will be able to take care of her and the medications will cure her but when he finds that the medication is useless, he asks if she wants to meet Elsamma. However, the morning after he contacts his daughter Annakutty passes away in her sleep. Elsamma arrives with her son Renji.. Annakutty's funeral is done. Renji and Skaria quickly become friends. Before Elsamma and Renji leave for Chennai, he tells Renji that Renji should bring his father Johnson too when they come the next time. Elsamma reveals that her husband died 3 years ago and that she is employed in his office. Skaria is shocked and asks why she did not come back home. She says it's because of a promise she made to her husband that since her father was not in favour of her marrying Johnson Renji should not be brought up in her father's house. After his daughter leaves for the train station, he goes there and asks if he can live with her and his grandson so that she need not break the promise she made to her late husband before he died. Skaria leaves with his grandson and Elsamma to Chennai.

Cast

Rohini is an Indian actress, lyricist, screenwriter, voice actor and director. She has mainly acted in south Indian, notably Malayalam and Tamil films. Having started her acting career at five, she has about 130 south Indian films to her credit. She received National Award of Special mention and Andhra Pradesh State Award for Best Female Actor in 1996 for the film Sthree.

Thilakan Indian actor

Surendranatha Thilakan was an Indian film and stage actor who appeared in over 200 Malayalam films. Acclaimed as one of the finest actors, he has won 3 National Film Awards and 11 Kerala State Film Awards. The Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri in 2009 for his contributions towards the arts. He died on 24 September 2012 at the age of 77. He holds the record of receiving Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actor the highest number of times, till date.
