Literature

"Palasban" book of poems in Marathi, published by "Mouj". He has directed a play " Aarsa Bolto", in Marathi, the first one-act play by the Marathi Play Writer & poet Shri. C.T. Khanolkar, Where the dramatic talent of Shri. Amol Palekar, the then student of Sir. J.J School of Art, was discovered for the first time.

Achievements as a musician and musicologist

Known as a Harmonium soloist. He has written articles on music, discussing the musicological and aesthetic problems. He has also studied Musicology, especially the "Shruti" intervals or the micro-tonic intervals in Indian music.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is an Indian educational trust. It was founded on 7 November 1938 by Dr. K. M. Munshi, with the support of Mahatma Gandhi. The trust programmes through its 119 centres in India, 7 centres abroad and 367 constituent institutions, cover "all aspects of life from the cradle to the grave and beyond – it fills a growing vacuum in modern life", as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru observed when he first visited the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in 1950.

Koregaon Town in Maharashtra, India

Koregaon is a census town and headquarters for the surrounding Koregaon Taluka in the Satara subdivision of Satara district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is situated on the Satara-Pandarpur road about 18 km east of Satara city, about 120 km from Pune and 267 km from Mumbai. The Koregaon railway station, situated on the Pune - Miraj line, is 2 kilometers outside the town. At a stone's throw from the railway station is Koregaon Bus Station.

Akbar Padamsee was an Indian artist and painter, considered one of the pioneers in Modern Indian painting along with S.H. Raza, F.N. Souza and M.F. Husain. Over the years he also worked with various mediums from oil painting, plastic emulsion, water colour, sculpture, printmaking, to computer graphics, and photography. In addition, he worked as a film maker, sculptor, photographer, engraver, and lithographer. Today his paintings are among the most valued by modern Indian artists. His painting Reclining Nude was sold for US$1,426,500 at Sotheby's in New York on 25 March 2011.

Prayag Jha Chillar, also known as Prayag Jha, is a contemporary Indian artist, specializing in etching. Her works are in collections all over India, including the National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi. Jha's work was showcased in solo exhibitions from 1971 to 2012 across Jehangir Art Gallery, Taj Art Gallery, Bajaj Art Gallery and Art Heritage New Delhi. Her work depicts scenes from the ancient Indian epic Meghdoot and is inspired by natural forms such as grass and leaves. Jha's earlier works were primarily monochrome, but have evolved to include strong colors.

Sankho Chaudhuri was an Indian sculptor, a noted figure in the art scene of India. (Although named Naranarain in due family tradition, he was more widely known by his pet-name Sankho)

Dr. Bharati Vaishampayan was a Hindustani Classical Vocalist of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana and the former Dean and Head of Department of Music at Shivaji University.

Bose Krishnamachari painter

Bose Krishnamachari is an internationally acclaimed Malayali painter and Artist-Curator based in Mumbai, India. He was born in 1963 at Magattukara village near Angamaly, Kerala. He had done his early schooling at GHSS Puliyanam. He took his BFA from Sir J J School of Art, Mumbai in (1991), and then completed his MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London in(2000). He was a recipient of the award of the Kerala Lalita Kala Akademi(1985), British Council travel award (1993), Mid America Arts Alliance Award(1996), Chales Wallace India Trust Award (1999–2000), Life Time Fellowship Award- Kerala Lalita Kala Academy and was first runner up for the Bose Pacia Prize for Modern Art, New York, 2001. His work comprises vivid abstract paintings, figurative drawings, sculpture, photography, multimedia installations and architecture. Since 1985 he lives and works in Mumbai. Bose is the founder member and President of Kochi Biennale Foundation and Biennale Director of international exhibition of contemporary art, Kochi-Muziris Biennale.

Bholekar Srihari Indian artist

Srihari Bholekar was a painter, sculptor and printmaker from Telangana, India.

Dhanraj Bhagat (1917-1988) was an Indian sculptor, considered by many as one of the major sculptors of the Indian subcontinent. He was born in 1917 in Lahore, in the erstwhile British India and secured a diploma in sculpture from the National College of Arts, Lahore. His career started as a member of the faculty at the College of Art, Delhi in 1947 where he rose to the position of the head of the Sculpture Department by the time of his retirement in 1977.

Laxman Pai is an Indian artist and painter. He is a former principal of the Goa College of Art, a post he held from 1977 to 1987. Pai is a recipient of several awards including India's third highest civilian honour of Padma Bhushan, awarded by the Government of India.

Manu Parekh is an Indian painter, known for his several paintings on the city of Varanasi. Reported to be influenced by Rabindranath Tagore and Ram Kinker Baij, Parekh is a recipient of the 1982 Lalit Kala Akademi Award. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian award of the Padma Shri, in 1991.

Waman Thakre is an Indian photographer and a former deputy director at the Directorate of Panchayat and Social Service of the Government of Madhya Pradesh. He is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and the Photographic Society of America and is a recipient of the Shikhar Award of the MP State government. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2007, for his contributions to Arts.

Renuka Kesaramadu Indian artist

Renuka Kesaramadu is a contemporary painter and sculptor from India. She is best known internationally through her collaborative art exhibitions and participations in workshops in Europe. She has also curated a few international art symposia and exhibitions in India.

Y. Subramanya Raju Artist (b. 1907, d. 1995)

Y. Subramanya Raju was an Indian artist who patronized the Mysore style of traditional art. He was born into a family of court painters in the princely state of Mysore. The Mysore Dasara Procession paintings which adorn the walls of the Kalyana Mantapa in the Mysore Palace are few of his exquisite works. In the later years, Raju involved himself with the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath for the promotion of fine art and artists in the State. Raju spent most of his years teaching and popularizing Mysore style of art, as a recognition, Emeritus Fellowship was awarded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the Government of India gave its National Award for his excellence in Traditional Mysore Painting.
