Sinfronio "Sammy" Acaylar (1958or1959 [1] ) is a Filipino volleyball coach.
Acaylar has coached the Cignal HD Spikers women's team of the Philippine Super Liga helping them finish as runners-up twice in their first season in 2013. [1]
He would join the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors, who were newcomers in the 2017 season. He would guide the team in the All-Filipino Conference before resigning shortly prior to the start of the Grand Prix Conference due to commitments with other teams. [2] [3]
For the 2023 Spikers' Turf season, Acaylar is coaching the Imus City–AJAA Spikers. [4] [5]
Acaylar is known for his role in the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Altas of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). From 2010 to 2014, he would accomplish a win streak for the Altas men's team – which was then the longest in Philippine sport in general. He would return full time with Perpetual in 2018 after assuming multiple simultaneous coaching roles with other teams. [1] [6] He was also offered to become Perpetual's sports director in 2017. [7]
He also coached the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors for their University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 80 run in 2018. [8] [9]
Acaylar has coached the Philippines men's national team in multiple occasions. He has coached the team which finished as bronze medalists at the 1991 Southeast Asian Games. [10] He also led a team at the 2009 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship where they ended winless in six games. [11] [12]
Acaylar was once again tasked to lead the team in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games where they finished sixth. [13] [14]
He was also part of the coaching staff of the Philippines women's national team which won gold at the 1993 Southeast Asian Games. [13]
The Philippines men's national volleyball team represents Philippines in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches, governed by Philippine National Volleyball Federation since 2021.
The Philippine Super Liga was a non-professional corporate club women's volleyball league in the Philippines. It was first organized by SportsCore Event Management and Consultancy, Inc. and later owned by Athletic Events & Sports Management Group (ACES), Inc. The league was envisioned to provide former collegiate players a league with which they can continue with their volleyball career.

The Creamline Cool Smashers is a professional women's volleyball team playing in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). The team is owned by the Republic Biscuit Corporation and named after its Creamline Dairy brand.
The 2019 Spikers' Turf season was the fourth season of the men's volleyball league Spikers' Turf, the counterpart of the women's Premier Volleyball League. In 2014, the Shakey's V-League introduced a men's division during its 21st conference. The following year, Sports Vision, the organizers of the Shakey's V-League decided to spin-off the men's vision as a separate tournament, giving birth to the Spikers' Turf.
