Samson Oni

Samson Oni (born 25 June 1981) is a Nigerian-English high jumper.

Early in his career Oni won the 2001 AAA Indoor Championships while representing Nigeria. [1] He also competed in the 2007 European Indoor Championships, the 2008 World Indoor Championships, and the 2009 European Indoor Championships without reaching the final. He then finished seventh at the 2010 World Indoor Championships. [2]

His personal best jump is 2.30 meters, achieved in June 2008 in Birmingham, England. He has 2.31 meters on the indoor track, achieved in March 2010 in Banská Bystrica. [2] However, he achieved a personal best of 2.37 meters in practice before the Olympics.

In 2007 he became the European Indoor Champion and won the silver medal at the 2007 World Championships in Athletics.

Oluwatosin Bamidele “Tosin” Oke is a Nigerian track and field athlete, who competes in the triple jump. Born a dual national, he initially competed for Great Britain. He set the current UK junior indoor record and was 1 cm shy of the outdoor junior record. He was the 1999 European Athletics Junior Championships Champion, and came 5th at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. After multiple indoor and outdoor UK titles, he later switched to compete for Nigeria. Since competing for Nigeria he has won back-to-back African Championships in Athletics titles and the Commonwealth Games championship and is the current All-Africa Games Champion. At the 2012 Summer Olympics Oke finished seventh in the triple jump final, the best Nigerian result of the Games.

Mark Mandy is a retired Irish high jumper who grew up in England and competed for the Republic of Ireland by virtute of the fact he had a grandfather from Dublin. He seems to have retired from top level competition in 1999.
