Samuel Short (born 17 September 2003) is an Australian competitive swimmer. He has represented Australia at the World Championships and Commonwealth Games. Short won a gold medal in the 1500m Freestyle and a silver in the 400m Freestyle at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, as well as a silver medal as part of the 4 × 200 m Freestyle Relay at the 2022 World Championships. Biography

Short competed at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships in the 1500 metres freestyle. He qualified despite finishing two laps early by mistake at the National trials. [3]

In 2022, he was selected for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham where he competed in the men's 400 metres freestyle, reaching the final and winning a silver medal. [1] [4] Short also won a gold medal in the 1500m Freestyle.

Short has a personal best of 3.40.68 in the 400 free, which is the 7th fastest performance in history.

Short has a personal best of 7.37.76 in the 800 free, which is an Australian and Commonwealth record.
