Sander Johannes Gerardes Berk (born July 10, 1979 in Nieuwveen) is a Dutch triathlete. [1]
Berk won his first run-bike-run event as a junior on March 26, 1995 in Langedijk. [2] That same year he also became Dutch Junior Triathlon Champion in Waarland and he won triathlon races in Aalsmeer and Spijkenisse. [2] He added another two run-bike-run wins in Molenschot and Uithoorn. In 1996 he won a race in Leiden and he defended his triathlon title in Aalsmeer. [2] After winning a run-bike-run in Steenwijk and a triathlon in Xanten in 1997 he did not succeed in any race in 1998. In 1999, his last year as a junior he became Dutch run-bike-run champion in Venray. He also won a run-bike-run in Uithoorn and a triathlon in Enschede. [2]
His senior career started well with a triathlon win in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel as well as a run-bike-run win in Uithoorn. He defended his Uithoorn title in 2001 and also won a triathlon in Vinkeveen. [2] His first international triathlon win as a senior came in South Africa in 2002, when he won the race in Klerksdorp. Besides becoming Dutch national champion in 2003 he also won two triathlons in Leuven and Aalsmeer. [2] In Aalsmeer he also won an aquathlon and he won another race in Amersfoort. His biggest successes in 2004 were in Belgium where he won the team triathlon in Wachtebeke and the individual triathlon in Antoing. He also succeeded in the Aalsmeer triathlon again. [2]
After some injuries in 2005 he returned into competition in 2006 winning two duathlons in Klerksdorp and Pretoria, both in South Africa. [2] Again he was able to win the Aalsmeer triathlon and also in that year he and his team mates won the team triathlon in Enschede. 2007 was his best year to date in his career with a total of eight triathlon wins (Potchefstroom (twice), Amsterdam, Aalsmeer, Germiston, Midmar Dam, Roodeplaat Dam and Vanderbijlpark). [2] He also won the Resolution Health-Energade Series. With a win in Stein and some other good results in Bloemfontein and Richards Bay Berk qualified himself for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Duathlon is an athletic event that consists of a running leg, followed by a cycling leg and then another running leg in a format similar to triathlons. The International Triathlon Union governs the sport internationally.

Carol Montgomery is an Olympic athlete from Canada who competed in triathlon and athletics. She won a bronze medal at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and a bronze and a silver at the 1995 Mar del Plata Pan American Games in the 5,000m and 10,000m respectively. She was the World Duathlon Champion in 1993. Once won, she never competed in another duathlon event. She won the gold medal in the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester and often refers to this race as the highlight of her career.

Alistair Edward Brownlee MBE is a British triathlete. He is the only male athlete to hold two Olympic titles in the individual triathlon event, winning gold medals in the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games. He is also a four-time World Champion in triathlon being Triathlon World Champion twice and World Team Champion twice, a four-time European Champion, and the 2014 Commonwealth champion. Brownlee is the only athlete, male or female, to have completed a grand slam of Olympic, World, continental and Commonwealth championships. Brownlee is also a one-time world champion in aquathlon.
Emma Jane Pooley is a British-Swiss athlete in multiple sports. A former professional cyclist who specialised in time trials and hilly races, she later transferred to endurance running, duathlon and triathlon, and was four-times world champion in long-distance duathlon. She competes in long-distance and uphill mountain running and has represented Switzerland at the world trailrunning championships.
Jonathan Callum Brownlee is a British professional duathlete and triathlete. He is a six-time World champion, and one-time Olympic champion in triathlon.
Charlotte Morel, is a French professional triathlete, twelve times National Champion in various duathlon and triathlon categories, e.g. National U23 Triathlon Champion of the years 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. Since 2006, Morel is a permanent member of the French National Team. In the French Club Championship Series, Morel represented the club Beauvais, which e.g. in 2006, 2009 and in 2010 won both the French Club Championship Series Lyonnaise des Eaux and the National Club Championships in Gruissan. From 2013 to 2016, however, Morel will represent Issy les Moulineaux because of Beauvais' complete retreat from the elite sports.

Marino Vanhoenacker is a Belgian triathlete. On 3 July 2011, he set a world best time for Ironman full distance triathlon at the Ironman Triathlon at Klagenfurt in Austria, finishing after 7 hours, 45 minutes and 58 seconds, beating Luc Van Lierde's 1997 time of 7h50m27s. His time was subsequently beaten by Lionel Sanders at Ironman Arizona in 2016; the current world best time is held by Tim Don in a time of 7 hours, 40 minutes and 23 seconds at Ironman Brazil in May 2017.
The 2011 ITU Duathlon World Championships was a duathlon competition held in Gijón, Spain from 24 to 25 September 2011 and organized by the International Triathlon Union (ITU). The championship course included a 10k run, a 38.4k bike, and a 5k run. Titles for amateur duathletes, elite paraduathletes, and elite duathletes were awarded during the two days of competition.

Lange is also the 2010-2013 German champion in duathlon and the 2012 and 2013 German champion in team triathlon with EJOT Team TV Buschhütten.
Katie Zaferes is an American professional triathlete from Hampstead, Maryland. She earned a silver and bronze medal for the United States in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic triathlon held in 2021. She is also the 2019 ITU World Triathlon Series women's champion. She has placed second overall in the 2018 ITU World Triathlon Series and third in the 2017 ITU World Triathlon Series. Zaferes won both the 2018 and 2019 Super League Triathlon Championship Series. She finished in 3rd position in the series in 2021.
Alexander Amos Yee is a British professional triathlete and distance runner. He won the silver medal in the Men's Triathlon at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the gold medal in the Triathlon Mixed Relay at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics on Saturday 31 July 2021. He is also the 2022 Commonwealth Games triathlon champion in both the men's and mixed team events. He is a double World Championship medalist over the World Triathlon Championship Series, with silver in 2022, and bronze in 2021
