Sandhofen is a northern borough ( Stadtbezirk ) of Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The US Army is present in Sandhofen with Coleman Airfield and Coleman Barracks. The US Army's only military prison in Europe used to be located on that base. All US Army helicopter maintenance for Europe and the Middle East was once performed at Coleman. Coleman is now mostly empty, and used for maintenence and storage.

Performing ensembles include Brass Quintet, Dixieland Band, Brass Band, Little Big Band, Concert Band, Marching Band, and Ceremonial band as well as other small ensembles.

Coleman Barracks/Coleman Army Airfield is a United States Army military installation located in the Sandhofen district of Mannheim, Germany. It is assigned to U.S. Army, Europe (USAREUR) and administered by the U.S. Army Installation Management Command-Europe (IMCOM-E). Coleman Barracks should not be confused with the former "Coleman Kaserne", located in Gelnhausen. The U.S. Army named the airfield after Lieutenant Colonel Wilson D. Coleman, who was killed in action in France on 30 July 1944.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Heinrich Wicker</span> Officer at Dachau (1921–1945)

Heinrich Wicker was a German SS-Untersturmführer. He was the last commandant of the Dachau concentration camp. In the final days of the war, Wicker was responsible for leading a death march in which nearly 200 prisoners died. He was later summarily executed by American soldiers during the Dachau liberation reprisals.
