The boat was built by Sandstream Yachts a division of Stanlet Hatch, but it is now out of production. The company built boats from 1985 to 1997 in Stouffville, Ontario, Canada, before going out of business. [6] [7]
The Sandstream 26 is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass. It has a masthead sloop rig, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder and a fixed fin keel. It displaces 4,500 lb (2,041 kg) and carries 1,800 lb (816 kg) of steel ballast. [4]
