Sanjivani: A Medical Boon is an Indian medical drama television series that aired on Star Plus from 2002 to 2005. [2] [3] A sequel series Dill Mill Gaye premiered on 2007 on Star One. Another sequel named Sanjivani (2019 TV series) premiered on Star Plus in 2019. [4]

A medical drama is a television program or film in which events center upon a hospital, an ambulance staff, or any medical environment. Most current medical dramatic programming go beyond the events pertaining to the characters' jobs and portray some aspects of their personal lives. A typical medical drama might have a storyline in which two doctors fall in love. Communications theorist Marshall McLuhan, in his 1964 work on the nature of media, predicted success for this particular genre on TV because the medium "creates an obsession with bodily welfare". Currently, the longest running medical drama in the world is the British series Casualty, airing since 1986, and the longest running medical soap opera is General Hospital running since 1963.

Dill Mill Gayye is an Indian medical drama television series that aired on Star One from 20 August 2007 to 29 October 2010. It was a sequel to the Star Plus series Sanjivani - A Medical Boon.

Plot

Sanjivani narrates a story about four medical interns namely Dr. Juhi Singh, Dr. Rahul Mehra, Dr. Simran Chopra and Dr. Omi Joshi and the trials and tribulations they face to fight a constant battle against diseases and death of patients while balancing their professional and personal life. Ekhane Akash Neel is a Bengali medical romantic drama series which aired o STAR Jalsha. It is the remake of Star Plus Sanjivani. The serial is set in a nursing home, and is themed on the love between Dr. Ujaan Chatterjee, a respected and talented young doctor, and Hiya, a free-spirited girl who is the central heroine of the drama. In 2019, a reboot version Ekhane Aakash Neel Season 2 premiered on Star Jalsha.
