Sapan Chakraborty

Sapan Chakraborty was an Indian composer and singer who composed music for Bollywood Hindi and Bengali films. He was also a music assistant of Rahul Dev Burman and an occasional playback singer. He has also penned a number of lyrics for songs in Burman's Bengali films and Durga Puja special albums, along with those in films for which he was the composer. In terms of compositional style, the eclectic influences of his guru Rahul Dev Burman are present in his creations. Sapan Chakraborty is not to be confused with Sapan Dasgupta of the Sapan-Jagmohan composer duo. He died on 23 August 1995 in Kolkata due to natural causes.

Rahul Dev Burman was an Indian music director. Burman is considered one of the greatest music composers of the Indian film industry. From the 1960s to the 1990s, Burman composed musical scores for 331 films. Burman did major work with his wife, Asha Bhosle, and Kishore Kumar and scored many of the songs that made these singers famous. He has also worked extensively and scored approximately 331 songs including some of his most memorable numbers in his career for his sister-in-law, melody queen Lata Mangeshkar. Nicknamed Pancham Da, he was the only son of the composer Sachin Dev Burman.

Manna Dey Indian playback singer, music director, musician and vocalist

Prabodh Chandra Dey, known by his stage name Manna Dey, was an internationally acclaimed Indian playback singer, music director, musician and Indian classical vocalist. As a classical vocalist, he belonged to the Bhendibazaar gharana. He was trained under Ustad Aman Ali Khan. He is considered one of the most versatile and celebrated vocalists of the Hindi film industry. He was one of the playback singers credited with the success of Indian classical music in Hindi commercial movies. He debuted in the film Tamanna in 1942. After the song "Upar Gagan Bishal" composed by S D Burman he saw success and went on to record more than 4,000 songs till 2013. Later use of the word is attributed to the Buddha, who named his son Rahula as he felt that family ties could be an obstacle in the path to renunciation and nirvana. Buddha uttered Rahul when he first saw his son and gave a new meaning "relationship" and "bondage" to this name. Rahul means Moon, Able/efficient in Sanskrit and Pali. Rahul also means "Traveler" in Arabic.

Amit Kumar Indian singer

Amit Kumar Ganguly is an Indian playback singer, actor, music composer. Kumar launched his own music production company, named Kumar Brothers Music. He predominantly worked in Bollywood and regional film songs since the 1970s, including 370 Hindi compositions by R.D. Burman. After Burman's death in 1994, citing a lack of quality music composition, Kumar withdrew from playback singing and concentrated on live orchestra shows.
