Sara Aerts (born 25 January 1984) is a Belgian athlete who specialises in the heptathlon and bobsledder.
Aerts was born in Turnhout. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the heptathlon but did not finish the competition. [1]

A heptathlon is a track and field combined events contest made up of seven events. The name derives from the Greek ἑπτά and ἄθλος. A competitor in a heptathlon is referred to as a heptathlete.
Jacqueline Joyner-Kersee is a retired American track and field athlete who competed in both the heptathlon and long jump. She won three gold, one silver, and two bronze Olympic medals at four different Olympic Games. Joyner-Kersee was also a four-time gold medalist at the world championships. Since 1988, she has held the world record for heptathlon.
Austra Skujytė is a retired Lithuanian athlete, competing in both the heptathlon and the decathlon. On 15 April 2005 in Columbia, Missouri, she broke the women's decathlon world record, with a score of 8358. She is the 2004 Olympic silver medalist and 2012 Olympic bronze medalist in the heptathlon. The latter medal was allocated retrospectively following the disqualification in 2016 of original medalist Tatyana Chernova for historic doping offences.

In the 800 m event of the heptathlon, her foot crossed the lane-marking line too early, but this led to a mistaken disqualification of Lilli Schwarzkopf in the neighbouring lane. However, the disqualification was rescinded when Schwarzkopf pointed out the error. Savitskaya's final place was corrected from seventh to eighth.

Johnson was a member of the track and field team for the Arizona State Sun Devils, where she wa coached and trained by Dan O'Brien, gold medalist in the decathlon at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2008, she won the Honda Sports Award as the nation's best female collegiate track and field athlete.
