Sarah Fisher Gardial is an American academic and teacher. She became dean of Belmont University Massey College of Business in March 2020. She is also the former dean of Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa.

Early life

Sarah Fisher Gardial graduated from the University of Arkansas, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration in 1980 and an MBA in 1981. [1] She earned a PhD from the University of Houston in 1986. [1]

Career

Gardial taught at the University of Tennessee from 1986 to 2012. [1]

Gardial was dean of Tippie College of Business during 2012 - 2020, [1] where she was also a professor of marketing. She encouraged faculty to use real-life corporate situations rather than the traditional case method. [2] She has also encouraged more women to enroll in the school's MBA program, [3] and advocates for a shift in implicit cultural patterns that hamper equity for women. [4] [5]

In October 2019, she was named dean of Belmont University Massey College of Business, effective March 1, 2020. [6]

Gardial serves on the boards of GreenState Credit Union, the United Fire Group, and Learning Tree International. [7]

She co-authored marketing textbook Know Your Customer: New Approaches to Understanding Customer Value and Satisfaction. [8]

The Tippie College of Business, also known as Tippie, is the business school located at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. Established as the College of Commerce in 1921, Tippie is one of the oldest and highest-ranked business schools in the United States. The college is named after 1949 graduate Henry B. Tippie, marking the first academic division at the University of Iowa to be named after an alumnus. The college is located in the Pappajohn Business Building, which is named after 1952 graduate Des Moines venture capitalist John Pappajohn. Since 1923, the college has held the gold standard of accreditation, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Rajendra K. Srivastava is the dean and Novartis Professor of Marketing Strategy and Innovation at the Indian School of Business. He has been a tenured professor and an academic administrator and has worked in the United States, Singapore, and India. He has been listed in the Forbes's Tycoons of Tomorrow 2018. Charles H. Lundquist College of Business

The Charles H. Lundquist College of Business is the University of Oregon's business school.
