Sarah Towles Reed High School is a high school in Eastern New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana. [2]
Reed opened in 1988 and was directly operated by the Orleans Parish School Board and then the Recovery School District. [3] It was named after Sarah Towles Reed and the campus was built to house up to 1,170 students. [4] [5]
In 2005, as Hurricane Katrina was about to hit land, the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) designated Reed High School as a place where people could receive transportation to the Louisiana Superdome, a shelter of last resort. [6]
After Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Reed was moved to an alternate location, where it stayed until October 2006. During that month it moved to its original building, which at that time housed middle and high school classes. [7] Sarah T. Reed closed in spring 2014.
The Recovery School District stated that there were plans to reopen Reed in 2016; it was looking for organizations to act as charter school operators for Reed. [5]
In 2018, Reed High School reopened under the management of Einstein Charter Schools.

New Orleans East is the eastern section of New Orleans, Louisiana, the newest section of the city. This collection neighborhood sub divisions represents 65% of the city's total land area, but it is geographically isolated from the rest of the city by the Inner Harbor Navigational Canal. It is surrounded by water on all sides, bounded by the Industrial Canal, Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Lake Pontchartrain, Lake Borgne, and the Rigolets, a long deep-water strait connecting the two lakes. Willow School, formerly Lusher Charter School, is a K-12 charter school in uptown New Orleans, Louisiana, in the university area. Willow is chartered by Advocates for Arts Based Education (AABE), which acts as the board for the entire school. Willow School has three uptown campuses; the lower school program is housed at the Dr. Everett J. Williams, Jr. Campus, the middle school is at the Ellis L. Marsalis, Jr. Campus, and the high school is at the Elijah Brimmer, Jr. Campus on Freret Street. A temporary campus was housed at the Jewish Community Center on St. Charles Avenue.
Recovery School District (RSD) is a special statewide school district administered by the Louisiana Department of Education. Created by legislation passed in 2003, the RSD is designed to take underperforming schools and transform and make them effective in educating children.

The International School of Louisiana (ISL) is a system of charter schools in Greater New Orleans. Three campuses are located in New Orleans.
