Sasha Gatt (born 22 June 2005) is a Maltese swimmer. [1] [2] She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Women's 400 m freestyle, and Women's 1500 m freestyle. [3] She also competed in the women's 1500 metre freestyle event at the 2020 European Aquatics Championships, in Budapest, Hungary. [4]
On the 12 December, 2020, Gatt qualified at age 15 for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics for the 1500m freestyle race with a time of 17:00.28. Later, on the 6 June, 2021 Sasha Gatt also qualified for the 400m freestyle race at a time of 4:18.58.
Gatt was in heat 2, lane 7 for the 400m freestyle race. [5] With the time of 4:19.75, she finished 6th in her heat and 22nd in the event. The next day, she swam in the women's 1500m freestyle race. [6] Gatt finished third out of three in her heat, with a time of 16:57.47, which was her PB. [7]
Mireia Belmonte García is a Spanish Olympic, world, and European champion swimmer. She is the world record holder in the short course 200 metre butterfly and 400 metre individual medley. Formerly, she held the world record in the short course 400 metre freestyle, 800 metre freestyle, and 1500 metre freestyle. Emma Jennifer McKeon, is an Australian competitive swimmer. She is a seven-time world record holder, three current and four former, in relays. Her total career haul of 11 Olympic medals following the 2020 Olympic Games made her Australia's most decorated Olympian and included one gold medal from the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and four gold medals from the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. With four gold and three bronze medals she was the most decorated athlete across all sports at the 2020 Summer Olympics, and tied for the most medals won by a woman in a single Olympic Games. He ranked No. 16 in the world and was the slowest qualifier for the final race but won Olympic gold with a time of 3:43.36. Hafnaoui was the only Tunisian to win Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020.
