Saskatchewan Development Fund Corporation is a crown corporation established by the Government of Saskatchewan in Canada to provide residents with a low risk investment fund. Established in 1973, shares were sold to the general public in Saskatchewan until 1983. [1] The fund continues to operate, however new shares are not offered for sale. The fund had also offered RRSP, Deferred Profit Sharing Plans and term-certain annuities. By 1982, the combined fund reached a value of $42 million; since that point the board has concentrated on the remaining clients and on the orderly wind-down of the fund; by 2007, the funds assets were reduced down to $3.2 million. [2] The development fund act was repealed in 2013. [3]

The Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund(HSTF) is a sovereign wealth fund established in 1976 by the Government of Alberta under then-Premier Peter Lougheed. The Heritage Savings Trust Fund was created with three objectives: "to save for the future, to strengthen or diversify the economy, and to improve the quality of life of Albertans." The operations of the Heritage Savings Trust Fund are subject to the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund Act and with the goal of providing "prudent stewardship of the savings from Alberta's non-renewable resources by providing the greatest financial returns on those savings for current and future generations of Albertans." Between 1976 and 1983 the Government of Alberta deposited a portion of oil revenue into the fund. Saskatchewan Oil & Gas Corporation, also known as SaskOil, was a Canadian Crown corporation owned by the Government of Saskatchewan from 1973 to 1986, whem the company went public under the name Wascana Energy Inc. In 1987, the last remaining government interest in the corporation was sold to Canadian Occidental Petroleum and in 1997 it was bought entirely by Canadian Occidental.

Saskatchewan Government Growth Fund Management Corporation was a crown corporation established by the Government of Saskatchewan in Canada to provide immigrants with an investment option under the federal Immigrant Investor Program (IIP). From 1989 until 1999 the fund raised over $275 million in investments. On April 1, 2009, the corporation was wound down and responsibility transferred to Crown Investments Corporation.

The United Conservative Party (UCP), led by Jason Kenney, won a majority of seats and formed the government. The New Democrats, led by outgoing Premier Rachel Notley, won the second most seats and formed the official opposition. The premiership of Jason Kenney began on April 30, 2019, when Jason Kenney and his first cabinet were sworn in by Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, Lois Mitchell. On October 11, 2022, Kenney resigned, and Danielle Smith, the new leader of the UCP, was sworn in as premier by Lieutenant Governor Salma Lakhani.
