Dr. Satish Chaturvedi (born 10 October 1946) is an active Indian politician of the Maharashtra state. He has represented the Nagpur East assembly constituency for 5 terms in the Maharashtra legislative assembly. [1] [2] [3]
Dr. Chaturvedi [4] is a Ph.D. scholar and has a doctorate in Literature. He has also done M.A. (Political Sciences), (History), (Hindi Literature). Apart from this, he also has an LL.B. degree. [5]
He became active in politics during his college years as he became the President of Nagpur University Student Union in 1968. He came in contact with the student wing of the Indian National Congress, N.S.U.I. and got the charge of Maharashtra N.S.U.I. in 1969. In 1978, he became the Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress President. [6] [7]
From 1979 to '80, he was the General Secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee and also handled the position of Vice President, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee. Along with this he was also the member of AICC delegates from Maharashtra for 15 years. [8]

He was the Minister of State for Forest, Health, Tourism, Technical Education, Sports and Irrigation in 1980. [10] [11]
He also held the Labour, Textiles and Mining ministry from 2001 to '04. [12] [13]
From 2004 to '08, he held the ministerial berth for Labour, Textiles, Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Employment and Self Employment. [14] [15]

Although India is a parliamentary democracy, the country's politics has become dynastic or with high level of nepotism, possibly due to the absence of party organizations, independent civil-society associations which mobilize support for a party, or centralized financing of elections. The dynastic phenomenon is present at the national, state, regional, and district level. The Nehru–Gandhi family has produced three Indian prime ministers, and family members have largely led the Congress party since 1978. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also has several dynastic leaders. In addition to the major national parties, other national and regional parties such as Shiromani Akali Dal, Shiv Sena, Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal Secular, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Kerala Congress, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, Indian Union Muslim League, AIMIM, and the Nationalist Congress Party are all dominated by families, mostly those of the party founders.
Venod Sharma is an Indian politician and the founder of the Jan Chetna Party. He was student leader and associated with INC student outfit NSUI. He made it into political mainstream when he was elected as MLA from Banur in 1980 Punjab assembly election. In next assembly elections he lost to Kanwaljit Singh. He was formerly a member of the Indian National Congress, which he represented as a Member of Legislative Assembly (1980) from Banur, Punjab then Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha (1992–1998) and as a Member of Legislative Assembly (2005–2014) from Ambala, Haryana.

Additionally, he also served as the ex-officio Vice-Chairman of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board's holding company and as the co-chairman of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd.
Ashokrao Shankarrao Chavan is an Indian politician from Maharashtra. He is son of ex-Maharashtra Chief Minister Shankarrao Chavan. He is one of the most influential leaders of Indian National Congress in Maharashtra. He has served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra state from 8 December 2008 to 9 November 2010. Also, he has served as Minister for Cultural Affairs, Industries, Mines and Protocol in the Vilasrao Deshmukh government and he is also the former PWD Minister of Maharashtra.

He is the Working President of the Indian National Congress party Maharashtra and Chairman AICC for SC Department. He was the Cabinet Minister of Employment Guarantee and Water Conservation in the Government of Maharashtra, India until 2014.

He assumed this position on 17 June 2013. The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly or the Mahārāṣhṭra Vidhāna Sabhā is the lower house of the legislature of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is situated in the Nariman Point area of South Mumbai in the capital Mumbai. Presently, 288 members of the Legislative Assembly are directly elected from the single-seat constituencies. The members of the upper house, the Maharashtra Legislative Council, are indirectly elected through an electoral college.

The dynastic phenomenon is seen from national level down to district level and even village level.The three-tier structure of Panchayati Raj established in the 1960s also helped to create and consolidate the dynastic phenomenon in rural areas. Apart from government,political families also control cooperative institutions, mainly cooperative sugar factories,district cooperative banks in the state, and since the 1980s private for profit colleges. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party also features several senior leaders who are dynasts. In Maharashtra, the NCP has particularly high level of dynasticism.
Sudip Roy Barman is an Indian politician from Tripura. He served as the MLA of the Tripura Legislative Assembly from the Agartala constituency which he held since 1998 by winning four elections consecutively on INC ticket by handsome margins. In 2018, he contested from Agartala constituency and won on BJP ticket. On 7 February 2022, he quit BJP and resigned from his MLA post. On 8 February he joined the Indian National Congress in Delhi. Again on 23 June 2022, he contested from Agartala constituency and won on INC ticket defeating his nearest rival of BJP by more than 3500 votes.
Ashish Ranjeet Deshmukh was the member of the 13th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He represented the Katol Assembly Constituency. He resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party Deshmukh is the son of former president of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee and former Maharashtra minister Ranjeet Deshmukh. In December 2013, Deshmukh had undertaken an indefinite fast to press for formation of a separate Vidarbha state.

Chaudhary Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi is an Indian politician of the Indian National Congress party from Madhya Pradesh.
