Savannah MOON (known as Savannah MOON Productions) is a creative Film, television, Animation and Web production company in Kampala, Uganda. [1] [2] Its major productions include The Life (2012), award nominated Beneath The Lies - The Series (2014), MELA, award winning MUKISA and many more.

In addition to creating, developing and producing content in-house, Savannah MOON also collaborates with other Production houses, Organisations and individuals on local, regional and international projects. [3] [4] Savannah MOON provides services through the film development cycle from Project Creation, Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production. In addition, Savannah MOON also undertakes Film Distribution & Marketing and Talent Development & Management through, ACTA.Talent, its affiliate and others.

Productions

Savannah MOON has created and produced full-length feature films including THE LIFE, PIECES OF ME, MY SISTER'S KEEPER, MUKISA, GOOLO. TV Series Beneath the Lies, [5] [6] which showed on Urban TV and was digitally distributed by MTN Uganda. Savannah MOON has also co-produced short films including award winning The Last Breath with Kampala Film School, The Quarry and more. Savannah MOON is currently developing several concepts and content. Savannah MOON is also involved in an initiative, You Are Limitless (YAL), which aims to motivate, guide and encourage Africans, especially the youth to achieve their full potential.

Frederick Douglas Mwanja Mukisa was a Ugandan educator and politician. He served as the State Minister for Fisheries in the Ugandan Cabinet, from 1 June 2006 until 27 May 2011. In the cabinet reshuffle of 27 May 2011, he was dropped from the cabinet and replaced by Ruth Nankabirwa. He also served in the elected Ugandan Parliament, representing "Bukooli County Central", Bugiri District, from 2006 until 2011. The emerging film industry in Uganda is known as Ugawood or sometimes Kinauganda by the locals. The 2005 production Feelings Struggle directed by Ashraf Ssemwogerere is credited with being the first Ugawood film. Many have asserted that this steadily growing film industry is derived from Hollywood, in the same manner as Nollywood and Bollywood. In a story that ran in a local newspaper in Uganda about the naming of the industry, filmmakers Kuddzu Isaac, Matt Bish and Usama Mukwaya were quoted as saying that Ugawood would be the most appropriate name for the industry.

The film was nominated at the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards for Best Film in an African Language.

The Ganda Boys are a UK-based, African fusion band. Its members include Ugandan singers Denis Mugagga and Dan Sewagudde, along with UK musician, arranger, record producer, and film composer Craig Pruess. The Ganda Boys began the Ganda Foundation, which operates in Uganda as a registered charity organization that raises money to combat poverty in the Third World. Their first project provided equipment for Ugandan hospitals and schools in need.

Beneath The Lies is a Ugandan television drama-mystery series created by Nana Kagga Macpherson and starring Flavia Tumusiime, Natasha Sinayobye, Gaetano Kagwa, Hellen Lukoma, Rabadaba, Deedan Muyira, Cedric Babu Ndilima, Patrick Salvado Idringi and Susan Naava as regular cast members. The series was directed by Joseph Kitsha Kyasi and Tosh Gitonga. It was originally produced by Savannah MOON Productions, and Kinetic Media Group before all production was taken over by 40Plus Productions, a production house co-owned by Nana Kagga and Cedric Babu Ndilima. It airs on Sundays at 9:30 p.m. EAT, on New Vision Group's Urban TV Uganda.

Kiira Motors Corporation or KMC is a State Enterprise in Uganda established to champion the Development of the Domestic Automotive Value Chain for job and wealth creation and commercialize the Kiira Electric Vehicle Project. Gladys Oyenbot is a Ugandan actress, singer and producer professionally known by her mononym Oyenbot. Doreen Mirembe, is a Ugandan actress, filmmaker, producer, founder of Amani and dental assistant at Pan Dental Surgery. She has acted in numerous films and TV series as well as producing her own movies.

Maureen Nankya is a Ugandan actress who featured in Mariam Ndagire's maiden film Down This Road I Walk (2007) plus sitcom Tendo Sisters which was run on NTV Uganda, Bukedde TV and Maisha Magic. She is also a model, singer, TV presenter, fitness instructor and personal trainer at her startup called Mona Fitness.

<i>Kyaddala</i> Ugandan television series

Kyaddala is a Ugandan drama television series by Reach a Hand Uganda. The first season was produced by Emmanuel Ikubese Films and Reach a Hand Uganda. Set in a present day high school life, Kyaddala a Luganda word for "It's Real", focuses on real life social issues that affect young people across Africa and their attempts to overcome those issues. The series features actors and actresses from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Nigeria. Kyaddala premiered on 27 September 2019 at Kingdom Kampala.

<i>Mela</i> (Ugandan TV series) Ugandan web series

Mela is a Ugandan web television series created and directed by Nana Kagga. It stars Malaika in the lead and her debut acting role as Mela Katende while Daniel Omara, Cleopatra Koheirwe, Lesham Kenogo, Denis Kinani and Marie Corrazon joined in supporting and regular roles. The series was entirely produced at Savannah MOON by producers and sisters Meme and Nana Kagga, who also co-executive produced the series. Nana co-directed the series with Marie Corrazon.

The Uganda Film Festival Awards also known as UFF Awards, are presented annually to recognize excellence in the film Industry in Uganda. The awards started in 2013 under a Uganda Communications Commission initiative to recognize and develop the Ugandan film industry. Nominated films are screened at a five-day festival that also runs training, workshops, exhibitions and outreaches. The awarding night marks the helm of the film festival that runs for three days.

Eleanor Vaal Nansibo Nabwiso is a Ugandan actress, producer, director and television personality. She is known for her work on The Hostel, Rain, Beneath the Lies - The Series and Bed of Thorns as the director. She also owns a production company called Nabwiso Films which she set up together with her husband Matthew Nabwiso.
