Dallas is a city in the U.S. state of Texas and the most populous city in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the United States at 7.5 million people. It is the most populous city in and seat of Dallas County with portions extending into Collin, Denton, Kaufman, and Rockwall counties. Dallas Michael John Albert Green is a Canadian musician, singer, songwriter and record producer who records under the name City and Colour. He is also known for his contributions as a singer, rhythm guitarist and songwriter for the post-hardcore band Alexisonfire. In 2005, he debuted his first full-length album, Sometimes, which achieved platinum certification in 2006. City and Colour began performing in small intimate venues between Alexisonfire tours. The name City and Colour comes from his own name: Dallas, a city, and Green, a colour. His reasoning for the name was that he felt uneasy "putting the album out under the name Dallas Green".
Sometimes is the debut solo album by City and Colour, a side project of Dallas Green, a guitarist and singer for the band Alexisonfire. At first, the majority of these songs were only available at live shows or over the Internet through Peer-to-peer services. However, due to high demand, the songs were compiled onto a studio album and released through Dine Alone Records. "Comin' Home" was the only song on the album to not have been previously available. The album was awarded Alternative Album of the Year at the 2007 Juno Awards.

The release was City and Colour's fourth consecutive studio album to reach No. 1 on the Canadian Albums Chart.
"Strangers" is a single released by Canadian artist City and Colour on 21 June 2019, the second single released from A Pill for Loneliness. Dallas Green has said of the track in a statement “You’ll never really understand what it’s like to be inside someone else’s brain or heart. So, we need to appreciate the differences. If we do, maybe we can live better with one another.”
Budweiser Stage at Home is a Canadian music performance series which aired on Citytv in 2020. Created in partnership with Live Nation Entertainment as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada, the series broadcast live concert performances by the artists who had been scheduled to play Toronto's annual summer Budweiser Stage concert series before the pandemic forced the cancellation of public events. The series was broadcast in Canada by Citytv, and streamed internationally on Live Nation's website.
