Savenaca Rawaca, OF (born 20 August 1991) is a Fijian rugby union player. Renowned for his physicality and aggressiveness on the rugby field, he earned the nickname "Pitbull". [1] [2] He is currently playing for the Fiji sevens [3] [4] team. [5] Rawaca made his debut for Fiji 7s at the 2014 Gold Coast Sevens. In August 2016, he was a part of the Fiji sevens men's rugby team that won a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Rawaca was born and raised in Navatu, Bua [6] and he started his career playing rugby in the local sevens competition. He played for the Bua sevens team [6] and was selected by Ben Ryan to represent the Fiji national sevens side in 2014 Gold Coast Sevens.
Rawaca has been appointed an Officer of the Order of Fiji. [7]
Ben Ryan is an English sports coach who is best known for coaching the Fiji sevens team to a gold medal in sevens rugby at the 2016 Rio Olympics. He is currently Performance Director at association football club Brentford.
Jovesa Seuseu "Jojo" Naivalu is a Fiji-American athlete. In the sport of athletics, Naivalu is the Fiji national record holder in both the 110 metres hurdles and the 400 metres hurdles. He represented Fiji at the 1996 Summer Olympics and the 1996 World Junior Championships in Athletics in the 110 metres hurdles.
