Scott R. Isphording (born September 2, 1971) [1] is an American college football coach and former player. He currently serves as the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Ohio Bobcats.

Playing career

Isphording was a four-year letterwinner as a quarterback at Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana, playing from 1990 to 1993. [2] He finished the 1992 season with 3,098 yards of passing, which stood as sixth-most in NCAA Division III history. [2]

Coaching career

Isphording began his coaching career as a graduate student at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, serving as the Tigers' quarterbacks coach from 1994 to 1996. [2] After leaving Fort Hays State, he was the quarterbacks and wide receivers coach at the Colorado School of Mines for three years. [3] Isphording spent the following six years, from 1998 to 2003, on the staff at Wittenberg University as an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, [4] in addition to serving as the head men's golf coach in his final year there. [5] From 1998 to 2002, he also served as an assistant coach on the Wittenberg baseball staff. [1]

He took his first Division I job in 2004 when he was hired as the quarterbacks coach on Jeff Genyk's staff at Eastern Michigan University. [1] After three years in this position, Isphording was promoted to offensive coordinator. [6] In 2009, Isphording departed Eastern Michigan for Ohio University, where he served as the Bobcats' tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator for one year. [2] Isphording then accepted a position as the quarterbacks coach at Toledo University; he held this position for two years before adding the roles of passing game coordinator and recruiting coordinator for his final two years. [7]

Before the 2014 season, Isphording returned to Ohio to take the position of quarterbacks coach. [7] He held this position for seven seasons before being promoted to co-offensive coordinator alongside Allen Rudolph, while still holding his previous position. [8]

Personal life

Isphording is from Cincinnati, Ohio, and attended La Salle High School. [4] He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hanover College and a Master of Science in physical education from Fort Hays State University. [3] He is married to his wife, Shelly, with whom he has two children. [2]

He was previously the offensive coordinator of the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football (AAF), and was the associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Indiana University prior to joining the AAF. DeBord was the head football coach at Central Michigan University from 2000 to 2003, compiling a record of 12–34. He worked as an assistant coach at the University of Michigan for a total of 11 seasons, from 1993 to 1999 and again from 2004 to 2007. He was the offensive coordinator for the Michigan Wolverines for five seasons including Michigan's 1997 campaign, in which the team won part of a national championship. DeBord has also worked as an assistant coach in the National Football League (NFL), with the Seattle Seahawks (2008–2009) and the Chicago Bears (2010–2012).

Jim Collins is an American college football coach and former player. He is currently head football coach at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, a position he has held since the 2022 season. Collins served as head football coach at the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa from 1994 to 1996, Capital University in Bexley, Ohio from 1997 to 2007, and Saginaw Valley State University in University Center, Michigan from 2008 to 2018. Don Treadwell is an American college football coach and former player. He was most recently the interim head coach at University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, having previously served as the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach on Doc Gamble's staff. Treadwell served as the head football coach at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio from 2011 to 2013 and as the offensive coordinator at Michigan State University from 2007 to 2010. He also acted as interim head coach after Mark Dantonio suffered a heart attack during the 2010 season. However, Michigan State credits the entire season to Dantonio's record.

Jedd Ari Fisch is an American football coach who is currently the head football coach at the University of Arizona. Fisch previously served as the quarterbacks coach for the New England Patriots and as an assistant offensive coordinator and senior offensive assistant for the Los Angeles Rams. In addition, Fisch served as the interim head football coach at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for the final two games of the 2017 season. He was the quarterbacks coach, wide receivers coach, and passing game coordinator under head coach Jim Harbaugh at the University of Michigan from 2015 to 2016. Fisch has served several stints as an assistant coach in both the professional and college ranks.

Scot Loeffler is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the head coach at Bowling Green State University. He formerly served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Boston College. He was previously the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Virginia Tech, having previously held the same role at Auburn University under head coach Gene Chizik. Prior to joining Auburn, Loeffler served as offensive coordinator for Temple. He has spent over a decade coaching quarterbacks, primarily in the Big Ten and Southeastern conferences. Kit Cartwright is former American football coach. He served as the head football coach at Butler University from 2002 to 2005. After compiling a 7–36 record at Butler, he was fired as the school's head football coach, effective at the end of the 2005 season.

Allen Rudolph is an American football coach and former football player. He is currently a co-offensive coordinator and the offensive line coach at Ohio University.

Mike Yurcich is an American football coach who most recently served as offensive coordinator at Penn State. He was the offensive coordinator at the University of Texas at Austin in 2020 prior to Penn State. He was the passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the Ohio State University for the 2019 season. Yurcich was the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State University from 2013 to 2018. He was previously the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Saint Francis, Edinboro, and Shippensburg. Yurcich also spent some time at Indiana as a graduate assistant.

Brian Wright is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach for Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas; a position he has held since December 2019. Wright was previously and was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Toledo and has had coaching stops at The College of Wooster, Walsh University, Youngstown State University, Montana State University, Florida Atlantic University. He served as the interim head coach at Florida Atlantic for the final four games of the 2013 season, leading them to four straight wins and bowl eligibility.

Tim Albin is an American college football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Ohio University, a position he has held since the 2021 season. He served as the head football coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State from 1997 through 1999. He led the 1999 Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers football team to an undefeated 13–0 record, with the season culminating in a NAIA National Championship.
