Scott Simpson (pole vaulter)

Scott Simpson (born 21 July 1979) is a Welsh pole vaulter.

Born in Bath, England, he finished sixth at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

His personal best jump is 5.41 metres, achieved in 2006. He has 5.42 metres on the indoor track, achieved in March 2007 in Sheffield.

He is the head coach of Welsh Athletics and also the coach of British pole vaulter Holly Bradshaw.

Derek Miles is an American pole vaulter, from Tea, South Dakota. A former pole vaulter for the University of South Dakota Track and Field team, Miles is currently an assistant coach for the Coyotes. In 2004, he placed seventh in the Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Miles was originally at fourth place in the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China, but Ukrainian Denys Yurchenko who originally finished third, was disqualified in November 2016 due to use of dehydrochlormethyltestosterone. On 17 April 2017, Derek Miles received the Olympic bronze medal.

Vicky Parnov is an Australian athlete who competes in pole vault. She has strong athletic pedigree, being the niece of Tatiana Grigorieva, who won the silver medal for Australia in the women's pole vault at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and the granddaughter of Natalya Pechonkina, who won the bronze medal for the USSR in the women's 400m at the 1968 Summer Olympics. She is coached by her father Alex Parnov, himself a former world class pole vaulter. Her younger sister Liz also competes in Pole Vault and was the Australian national champion in 2010 before she turned 16.
