The Scottish cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates to play the Netherlands in February 2016. The tour consisted of a Twenty20 International (T20I) match. [1] The match was in preparation for the World Twenty20 in India in March [1] [2] and was played at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai. [3] Scotland won the one-off match by 37 runs.

The tournament formed part of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier series, with the top six teams going forward to the qualifying round of the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 tournament.

Mark Robert James Watt is a Scottish cricketer. He made his Twenty20 International debut against Ireland on 18 June 2015. He made his List A debut in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship on 31 July 2015 against Nepal. On 5 February 2016 he took his first five-wicket haul in a T20I match, picking up five wickets for 27 runs against the Netherlands in the UAE. He made his first-class debut in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup on 9 August 2016 against the United Arab Emirates. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Hong Kong on 8 September 2016.

The Irish cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates to play the United Arab Emirates in February 2016. The tour consisted of two Twenty20 International (T20Is) matches and a 20-over tour match. The matches were in preparation for the 2016 ICC World Twenty20. The two-match series was drawn, with Ireland winning the first match and the United Arab Emirates winning the second. The second match of the series was the 500th T20I match since the format was introduced in 2005.

The T20I match was in preparation for the World Twenty20 in India in March and the Netherlands won the one-off game by 84 runs. The first-class match was part of the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup and the List A games were part of the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship.

Mohammed Qasim is a Pakistani-born cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. He made his first-class debut for the United Arab Emirates against Scotland in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup on 9 August 2016. On 20 September 2016 he scored the most runs for the Emirates Cricket Board XI team against the West Indies in a T20 tour match. He made his List A debut for United Arab Emirates in their three-match series against Oman in October 2016.

Imran Haider is a Pakistani-born cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. He made his List A debut for the United Arab Emirates cricket team in their three-match series against Oman in October 2016.

The 2017 Desert T20 Challenge was an international Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that was held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from 14 to 20 January 2017. The eight Associate Members of the International Cricket Council that have T20I status were scheduled to take part. However, Papua New Guinea declined to participate and were replaced by Namibia. Therefore, matches with Namibia were played as Twenty20 matches.

Thomas Barclay Sole is a Scottish cricketer. He made his List A debut for Northamptonshire against the South Africans team on 21 May 2017, during South Africa's tour of England. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut for Scotland against Ireland in the 2017–18 United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Series.

The Australian cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates from September to October 2018 to play two Tests and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches against Pakistan. Ahead of the Test series, there was a four-day practice match in Dubai.

The 2021 Summer T20 Bash was a series of Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket matches played in the United Arab Emirates in October 2021 between Ireland, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, Scotland and the United Arab Emirates. The UAE played one match against Namibia and three matches against Ireland, Scotland played one match against Namibia and one against Papua New Guinea, and Papua New Guinea and Namibia played one match against each other. The matches were used as preparation for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

The Bangladesh cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates in September 2022 to play two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The Bangladesh team was in Dubai to complete a training camp that had been interrupted by rain in Dhaka. The series was part of both teams' preparations for the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
