Scourge is the fourth studio album by British thrash metal band Xentrix. It was released in 1996 through Heavy Metal Records. [1] It is the only album to feature vocalist Simon Gordon and guitarist Andy Rudd, and their final one with bassist Paul "Macka" MacKenzie. The album goes into a more groove metal style that was very popular at the time. It was Xentrix's final studio album for more than two decades, until the release of Bury the Pain in 2019.

Roxy Music are an English rock band formed in 1971 by lead vocalist and principal songwriter Bryan Ferry and bassist Graham Simpson. By the time the band recorded their first album in 1972, Ferry and Simpson were joined by saxophonist and oboist Andy Mackay, guitarist Phil Manzanera, drummer Paul Thompson and synthesizer player Brian Eno. Relationship of Command is the third studio album by American post-hardcore band At the Drive-In, released on September 12, 2000. The album combines an aggressive edge with a melodic drive, harmonious, emotive vocals, and surreal lyrics. While it continues in the alternative style of At the Drive-In's previous albums, Relationship of Command is seen as a more well-rounded album than its predecessors. Initially received positively by critics, the album is now seen not only as one of the most influential post-hardcore albums of the 2000s, but also as one of the most accomplished recent works in the wider rock spectrum. Sabbat were an English thrash metal band from Nottingham consisting of Martin Walkyier (vocals), Andy Sneap (guitars), Simon Jones (guitars), Frazer Craske (bass) and Simon Negus (drums). They are considered one of the "big four" of British thrash metal along with Acid Reign, Onslaught, and Xentrix, who were all responsible for developing and popularizing the country's thrash metal scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Over their initial six-year run Sabbat released three studio albums, four demos, two split singles/compilation albums, two singles and a live VHS. In 1988 the band released their debut album History of a Time to Come which earned them further recognition. Their next album, Dreamweaver (1989), was also critically acclaimed. Shortly after the release of Mourning Has Broken (1991), tensions with the band began to surface, most of them revolved around money and Sabbat disbanded as a result. Xentrix are an English thrash metal band from Preston, Lancashire. The band were formed in 1984 under the name Sweet Vengeance. They changed their name to Xentrix in 1988, and released four albums – Shattered Existence (1989), For Whose Advantage? (1990), Kin (1992) and Scourge (1996) – before splitting up in 1997. After briefly reuniting in 2005–2006, Xentrix reunited once again in 2013, and they have since released two more albums: Bury the Pain (2019) and Seven Words (2022). As part of the underground metal scene of the late 1980s and early-to-mid 1990s, Xentrix have been referred to as one of the "big four" of English thrash metal, along with Acid Reign, Onslaught and Sabbat.

Lawnmower Deth are an English thrash metal band, who parodied the genre and recorded four albums. Initially active in the late 1980s and early 1990s, they reformed in 2008.

Acid Reign are an English crossover thrash band, originally active from 1985 to 1991. The band rebooted in 2015 with just H remaining from the original line up. Along with Onslaught, Sabbat and Xentrix, Acid Reign are considered to be one of the "big four" of British thrash metal. To date, they have released three studio albums: The Fear (1989), Obnoxious (1990) and The Age of Entitlement (2019).

Onslaught are a British thrash metal band from Bristol, England, active from 1982 to 1991 and again since 2005. The band initially drew influences from US and British hardcore punk bands such as Discharge and the Exploited, as well as the new wave of British heavy metal, and eventually adopted a straightforward thrash metal sound. They have been recognised as pioneers of the British thrash metal scene, and have been referred to as one of the country's so-called "big four", along with Sabbat, Xentrix and Acid Reign. Seventh Angel are an English Christian metal band that formed in 1987 in Halesowen, West Midlands. The band was known for its combination of doom metal and thrash metal. The band initially released two albums, The Torment (1990) and Lament for the Weary (1992), before disbanding; these records achieved mainstream distribution through the Music for Nations label, making Seventh Angel label mates with such groups as Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth. Kin is the third studio album by British thrash metal band Xentrix. It was released on 27 March 1992, and was their second album released through Roadrunner Records. The album goes more into a progressive approach than their two previous albums and was considered by the band to be the biggest mistake during their career. With a peak at No. 74 on the UK charts, the album was the last charting album for the band and the last album with vocalist/guitarist Chris Astley until his return in 2006.

<i>Bury the Pain</i> 2019 studio album by Xentrix

Bury the Pain is the fifth studio album by British thrash metal band Xentrix, released on 7 June 2019 in Europe and 21 June 2019 in North America, 25 years after their previous album Scourge. A music video was produced for the albums title track, "Bury the Pain". It marks the first album with new guitarist/vocalist Jay Walsh, replacing their previous member Chris Astley. In a post on the band's official Facebook page, they stated that by the end of 2015, Astley had no longer wanted to be a part of Xentrix and had left the band. To promote their return, they released a single for the track "Bleeding Out" on streaming services.

<i>Seven Words</i> (album) 2022 studio album by Xentrix

Seven Words is the sixth studio album by British thrash metal band Xentrix, and released 11 November 2022 through Listenable Records. To promote the upcoming release the band produced music videos for both the title track, "Seven Words", and "Reckless with a Smile".
