Early life

Duckart was born in Lexington, Kentucky, but he was raised in Portland, Oregon, where he currently resides. Of being raised in Oregon, Duckart said, "I feel like I’m very much stereotypically Pacific Northwest in my sound and whole vibe and interests. My parents played Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver, Iron & Wine, the Decemberists and people who also write about Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. It’s very much influenced me a lot and it’s just great. I love Oregon. It’s beautiful." [2]

Duckart began making music in middle school, posting his songs to SoundCloud, and more recently, TikTok. [3] He has been playing guitar since he was 11 or 12. [4]

Musical career

Searows debut album, Guard Dog, was self-released in 2022. Duckart did the writing, producing, recording, and mixing on the album [3] and used GarageBand. [5] In 2023 Searows was the first artist signed to Matt Maltese's record label, Last Recordings On Earth. [6]

Duckart released several singles in advance of the release of his first EP, End Of The World. “Older”, the first advance single, was released in July 2023. [7] "I have more than enough" was released on September 12, [8] and "Funny" was released on October 17. [9] The 6-track EP End Of The World was released on November 10 of the same year. A music video for the title track was released a month later, on December 10, 2023. [10]

Searows released singles "martingale" and "toothache" on August 21 and September 25, 2024, respectively. His next EP, flush, is scheduled to be released on November 22, 2024. [5]
