Second Family is the second studio album by American rock band Patent Pending. It was released on July 12, 2011 while the band was on the 2011 Vans Warped Tour, but due to a formatting issue the album was not released to online retailers until July 27, 2012. "Second Family" was recorded with the help of Patent Pending's fans with all the money raised in a Kickstarter after the bands funds had diminished.

Second Family has spawned two music videos. The music video for the first single off the album "Douchebag", takes the viewer through the hypothetical "Douche Awards", where the band mates win awards such as "Beer Pong Team of the Year" and "Best Sunglasses at Night." The video was produced by Jaret Reddick of Bowling For Soup's production company Built By Ninjas and directed by Heath Balderston. [1] The second video, "I Already Know (She Don't Give a Shit About Me)", was directed by John Komar of Kinarf Music Videos and released May 30, 2012 via Absolutepunk.net. The video incorporates hand-drawn and computer animation with live action footage.
During the bands Spring tour with Bowling For Soup John Komar of Kinarf Music Videos came along on the road to record some live footage and released a live music video for the song "Shake Weights & Moving Crates." The video was recorded live on April 28 at Peabody's in Cleveland Ohio. [2]
"One Less Heart to Break" (which reached the #1 highest ranked, most viewed, and buzzworthy music video on mtv.com) [3] and "Dance Til We Die" [4] were originally released off of 2010's I'm Not Alone (Patent Pending Album), but can be considered as a part of Second Family since these two tracks were re-released as bonus tracks on Second Family.
Frontman Joe Ragosta has been quoted staying that he wants to make a music video for every song off of Second Family. [5]
Bowling for Soup is an American rock band formed in Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1994. The band consists of Jaret Reddick, Chris Burney, Gary Wiseman, and Rob Felicetti. The band is best known for its singles "Girl All the Bad Guys Want", "1985", "Almost" and "High School Never Ends". The band is also known for performing the theme song for the Disney Channel TV show Phineas and Ferb and the vocal theme for Sonic Unleashed.
Rock On Honorable Ones!! is the second studio album by American rock band Bowling for Soup. The title is a reference to the slogan of S.H. Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas, where Bowling for Soup hails from. Based on the practice of Permian High School in Odessa, Texas, which is nicknamed "MOJO," Rider High adopted the slogan "ROHO" in the 1960s. Rider's sports teams are called the "Raiders," and Rider students are informed that "ROHO" stands for "Ride On Honorable Ones." This is the only Bowling For Soup album to include a horn section.
"1985" is a song that was written and recorded by SR-71 for their album Here We Go Again. Mitch Allan, SR-71's frontman, gave the song to American rock band Bowling for Soup, who recorded a cover version. SR-71 was an American rock band formed in Baltimore, Maryland in 1998. They are best known for their 2000 single "Right Now", their 2002 single "Tomorrow", and as the original authors of Bowling for Soup's 2004 hit "1985". The name of the band came from SR-71 Blackbird, a supersonic surveillance aircraft of the United States Air Force. The band was originally known as Honor Among Thieves, and as was later the case with SR-71, lead singer Mitch Allan was the only constant member.
"Brain Stew" and "Jaded" are two songs released as a joint single by American rock band Green Day. They appear as the tenth and eleventh tracks and third single from the group's fourth studio album, Insomniac. The song was also included on Godzilla: The Album. The two songs were released as one single, as the songs are transitional – "Brain Stew" segues directly into "Jaded". After 9/11, "Brain Stew" was placed on Clear Channel's list of post-9/11 inappropriate titles. The song "Brain Stew" is about Armstrong dealing with insomnia. According to Armstrong himself, "Brain Stew" was originally called "Insomniac" on demo, and "Brain Stew" is a reference to Armstrong's long-time friend, James Washburn, who is nicknamed Brain Stew.
