Seemi Aizdi is a Pakistani politician who was the member of the Senate of Pakistan from December 2018 to March 2024.
She was born in Comilla,which at the time was part of East Bengal in Pakistan,but is now situated in Bangladesh. [2] [3] [4] [5]
In May 2018,she paid Rs.100,000 to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as an application fee for a ticket to contest 2018 Pakistani general election from one of the national assembly constituencies of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). [6] However,she was not allotted a ticket for any of the three ICT constituencies. [7] [8] [9] Rather,she was accommodated in upcoming by-elections for the Senate of Pakistan and was elected senator from Punjab province on a reserved seat for women representing PTI. The election was held on 15 November 2018 between her and Saira Afzal Tarar of Pakistan Muslim League (N). [10] PTI was criticized for promoting nepotism for her being sister of then PTI stalwart Jahangir Tareen. [11] She served as a senator from December 2018 to March 2024. [12] [13] While serving as a senator,she chaired the committee on climate change. In this role,she advocated for making the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor more environmentally sustainable. [14]
In March 2022,while her brother Jahangir Tareen was backing a no-confidence motion against Imran Khan,she publicly expressed her support for Khan. [15]
She was among the PTI senators who proposed a resolution denouncing the May 9 riots and advocating for severe measures against those responsible for the violent acts on that day. [16]
Jahangir Khan Tareen is a Pakistani industrialist and politician who is the founder of JDW Sugar Mills,also known as JDW Group,a conglomerate specializing in the manufacturing and sale of sugar and associated products,ethanol(bio-fuels) production,power generation,transmission and sales,sugar cane farms,and aircraft operations and maintenance services. Jahangir Tareen is also the chairman and owner of JK Group,a conglomerate specializing in manufacturing and sale of sugar and associated products,milk production,processing and sales,power generation,transmission and sales,production and sales of fruits and agricultural produce,granite mining and sales,PepsiCo Multan franchise and PSL Multan Sultans' franchise. Khan has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan thrice between 2002 and 2017.

General elections were held in Pakistan on 25 July 2018 to elect the members of the 15th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The three major parties were Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI),led by Imran Khan,the Pakistan Muslim League,led by Shehbaz Sharif,and the Pakistan People's Party,led by Bilawal Bhutto. The PTI won the most seats in the National Assembly but fell short of a majority;the party subsequently formed a coalition government with several smaller parties. At the provincial level,the PTI remained the largest party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP);the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) retained its dominance in Sindh;and the newly formed Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) emerged as the largest party in Balochistan. In Punjab,the result was a hung parliament,with the Pakistan Muslim League (N) winning the most seats. However,after several independent MPAs joined the PTI,the latter became the largest party and was able to form a government.
Talal Chaudhry is a Pakistani politician,currently serving as a Member of the Senate of Pakistan (Senator) from since April 2024. Previously,he was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan,from June 2013 to May 2018.He served as the Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information Technology and Science and Technology in the cabinet of Nawaz Sharif from 2013 to 2017. Abdul Aleem Khan currently serves as a member of the National Assembly after being elected from Constituency NA 117,Shahdara Lahore in the general elections held on 8 February 2024. Abdul Aleem Khan owns PEMRA Samaa TV and Vision Group. He was also the Senior Minister of Punjab and Minister of Food from 2020 to 2021. He also served as a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from August 2018 to 2021. He announced his separation from politics on Twitter in a tweet. Later in a statement to the media,he said that he had no intentions of joining politics again and that he would focus on the welfare through the Abdul Aleem Khan Foundation. In June 2023 he launched the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party along with Jahangir Khan Tareen. He is a founding member and the incumbent president of the party.
