Seethalakshmi Prakash (born 7 May 2005) is an Indian singer. She rose to fame in 2020 when she was crowned Flowers TV "Top Singer", winning the marathon first season of the popular Flowers TV series, "Top Singer". [1] [2]

She has recorded over 20 songs in Malayalam and made guest television and video-link concert appearances in India and abroad. She has performed on multiple albums, collaborating with musicians like Vidyadharan Master and Abhijith Kollam. She has over 300,000 followers on social media. [3]

Career

During the 22-month, daily primetime run of the Top Singer premiere, Seethalakshmi competed in a total of 82 episodes and was judged "best performer of the day" in 38 of these. With the grand prize for the season, her prizes – a house and a scholarship – amounted to some US$ 95,000. [4] [5]

After her win in Top Singer, Seethalakshmi has performed concerts by video-link for audiences in London, UK, [6] Philadelphia, USA [7] and Kuwait. [8] She made multiple guest appearances on the new season of "Top Singer" and on Flowers TV, and recorded a music video, "Varavelpu", directed by award-winning director Rajesh Irulam [9] [10]

She received the Prem Nazir Memorial Award for the best female singer in Malayalam Television for 2021. [11]

Family

Seethalakshmi's parents are Prakash Puthunilam and Bindu Prakash. [12]

Uppum Mulakum is an Indian Malayalam-language sitcom, that had been broadcast on Flowers from 14 December 2015 to 26 February 2024. The sitcom was created by R. Unnikrishnan, who also directs it, after he returned to the director role in the second season. Uppum Mulakum depicts the everyday life of Balachandran Thampi, his wife Neelima, and their five children. The main cast includes Biju Sopanam, Nisha Sarang, Rishi S. Kumar, Juhi Rustagi, Al Sabith, Shivani Menon, Baby Ameya and Parvathy Ayyappadas. Baby Ameya joined the show as the newborn baby of Balachandran and Neelima in May 2018, when she was four months old and Parvathy Ayyappadas joined the main cast in February 2023, as the wife of elder son Vishnu.

Top Singer is an Indian Malayalam-language reality television singing competition show broadcast on Flowers, created and directed by Sindhu Sreedhar. The show features 22 contestants, all under the age of 15. Esther Anil hosted the show for the first 49 episodes. After co-hosting the 50th episode with Meenakshi Anoop, Meenakshi took over as the sole host. M. G. Sreekumar, M. Jayachandran(Season 1 and 2) and Sharreth(Season 3 and 4) form the permanent judging panel, with guest musicians, singers or composers. Top Band is the orchestra of the show.
