Arts Council England is an arm's length non-departmental public body of the Department for Culture,Media and Sport. It is also a registered charity. It was formed in 1994 when the Arts Council of Great Britain was divided into three separate bodies for England,Scotland and Wales. The arts funding system in England underwent considerable reorganisation in 2002 when all of the regional arts boards were subsumed into Arts Council England and became regional offices of the national organisation.

From 2010 to 2020,Dominiczak was the Vice-Principal and Head of the College of Medical,Veterinary and Life Sciences at the University of Glasgow,Scotland. She is an Honorary Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist for the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board,and Health Innovation Champion for the Medical Research Council. From 2013 to 2015,Dominiczak was president of the European Society of Hypertension. She is the current Editor-in-Chief of Precision Medicine,a new journal launched in July 2023.
Dame Lesley Anne Glover is a Scottish biologist and academic. She was Professor of molecular biology and cell biology at the University of Aberdeen before being named Vice Principal for External Affairs and Dean for Europe. She served as Chief Scientific Adviser to the President of the European Commission from 2012 to 2014. In 2018 she joined the Principal's senior advisory team at the University of Strathclyde.
Dame Muffy Calder is a Canadian-born British computer scientist,Vice-Principal and Head of College of Science and Engineering,and Professor of Formal Methods at the University of Glasgow. From 2012 to 2015 she was Chief Scientific Advisor to the Scottish Government.
Dame Sarah Jane Macintyre,known as Sally Macintyre,is a British medical sociologist. She is a professor emerita at the University of Glasgow.
The Honours Committee is a committee within the Cabinet Office of the Government of the United Kingdom formed to review nominations for national honours for merit,exceptional achievement or service. Twice yearly the Honours Committee submits formal recommendations for the British monarch's New Years and Birthday Honours. Members of the Honours Committee—which comprises a main committee and nine subcommittees in speciality areas—research and vet nominations for national awards,including knighthoods and the Order of the British Empire.
Dame Susan Ilene Rice,Lady Rice,is a British banker,company and charity director and Chair of Scottish Water,Business Stream,North American Income Trust,and non-executive director of the Office for Budget Responsibility. In 2000 she became the first women to lead a British clearing bank.
Dame Moira Katherine Brigid Whyte FERS is a Scottish physician and medical researcher who is the Sir John Crofton Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. She was the Director the Medical Research Council Centre for Inflammation Research and was Vice-Principal and Head of the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. Whyte is also a trustee of Cancer Research UK.
Dame Moira Margaret Gibb is a British public servant and social work adviser. After qualifying as a social worker,she worked for the London boroughs of Ealing,Kensington and Chelsea,and Camden,where she served as the chief executive of Camden London Borough Council from 2003 to 2011. Gibb served as a Civil Service commissioner from 2012 to 2016,and chaired the boards of City Lit and Skills for Care until 2022. She led a serious case review into safeguarding at Southbank International School,and into the Church of England's response to the case of Peter Ball.
