Gayo Lues Regency Regency in Sumatra, Indonesia

Gayo Lues Regency is a regency in the Aceh Special Region of Indonesia. It is located on the island of Sumatra. The regency was created in 2002 under Statute UU 4/2002 from the northern part of Aceh Tenggara. Its capital is Blangkejeren. The regency covers an area of 5,719.58 square kilometres and according to the 2010 census had a population of 79,560; the latest official estimate is 83,761. Along with the Central Aceh Regency and the Bener Meriah Regency it is home to the Gayo people.

PSGL stands for Persatuan Ssepakbola Gayo Lues. PSGL Gayo Lues is an Indonesian football club based in Gayo Lues Regency, Aceh. Club played in Liga Indonesia First Division in the 2011-12 Premier Division, but now they play in the lowest tier Indonesian league, Liga 3.

The language is similar to other Tai languages and is closely related to Kham Mueang or Tai Yuan, which is also known as Northern Thai language. In Yunnan, it is spoken in all of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, as well as Jiangcheng Hani and Yi Autonomous County in Pu'er City.

New Tai Lue script, also known as Xishuangbanna Dai and Simplified Tai Lue, is an alphabet used to write the Tai Lü language. Developed in China in the 1950s, New Tai Lue is based on the traditional Tai Tham alphabet developed c. 1200. The government of China promoted the alphabet for use as a replacement for the older script; teaching the script was not mandatory, however, and as a result many are illiterate in New Tai Lue. In addition, communities in Burma, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam still use the Tai Tham alphabet.

Southeast Aceh Regency Regency in Sumatra, Indonesia

Southeast Aceh Regency is a regency in the Aceh special region of Indonesia. It is located on the island of Sumatra. The regency covers an area of 4,231.41 square kilometres and according to the 2010 census had a population of 179,010 people; the latest official estimate is 188,461. The seat of the regency government is at Kutacane. In 1974, the Southeast Aceh Regency was separated from the Central Aceh Regency; however in 2002 the northern part of this regency was itself split away to form the new Gayo Lues Regency. The main commodities produced in the regency are palm oil, cacao, coconut, coffee, nutmeg, walnut, and pachouli oil The main rivers are the Alas River and the Butan River. Gayonese

The Gayo people are an ethnic group living in the highlands of Aceh Province, Sumatra, Indonesia. The Gayo tribe has a population of 336,856 and they live predominantly in the mountains. Most Gayo live in three regencies in Aceh namely Bener Meriah, Central Aceh, and Gayo Lues. Some of them live in several districts in other regencies, such as Serbejadi District, Simpang Jernih District, and Peunaron District in East Aceh Regency and Beutong District in Nagan Raya Regency. Other than that, the Gayo population also covers Southeast Aceh Regency and Aceh Tamiang Regency. Their homeland lies in the Barisan Mountains which has elevations of over 12,000 feet and extends more than one thousand miles. The Gayonese language has four dialects: Lut, Serbejadi-Lukup, Lut and Luwes. Their language does not have a writing system, but folk tales, stories and poetry are passed down in oral tradition. The traditional house of the Gayo is called Umah.

Saman (dance)

Saman is one of the most popular dances in Indonesia. Its origin is from the Gayo ethnic group from Gayo Lues, Aceh province, Sumatra, and is normally performed to celebrate important occasions. The dance is characterized by its fast-paced rhythm and common harmony between dancers. "Lies" is a song performed by South Korean boy band g.o.d. It was the title track from their third album Chapter 3, which was released in 2000. At the time of its release, the song became one of the group's most popular songs, dominating the rankings in music programs, and is still considered one of their representative songs and a classic K-pop song of the early 2000's. In a 2006 poll conducted by Gallup Korea, 1,500 Koreans aged 13 and above listed their five favorite songs and "Lies" was ranked 22nd out of the top 100 songs named. In a 2016 survey conducted by The Dong-a Ilbo in which thirty music industry experts and nearly 2000 citizens participated, "Lies" was voted third in the category of the greatest K-pop songs of the past twenty years.
