James Joseph Heckman is an American economist and Nobel laureate who serves as the Henry Schultz Distinguished Service Professor in Economics at the University of Chicago,where he is also a professor at the College,a professor at the Harris School of Public Policy,Director of the Center for the Economics of Human Development (CEHD),and Co-Director of Human Capital and Economic Opportunity (HCEO) Global Working Group. From 1992 to 2008,she held various positions at the World Bank,focusing in particular on poverty,inequality,and human development in low-income countries in Africa,Europe,and Asia. Klugman has published a number of books,papers and reports on topics ranging from poverty reduction strategies and labor markets to conflict,health reform,education,and decentralization. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from the Australian National University,as well as postgraduate degrees in Law and Development Economics from Oxford University,where she was a Rhodes Scholar Jeni is the daughter of former Labor MP,Richard Klugman,and civil libertarian Kristine Klugman.
Ernest Aryeetey,is an Emeritus Professor at the Institute of Statistical,Social and Economic Research (ISSER) at the University of Ghana. Until 31st July 2024,he was the secretary-general of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA). He was also previously vice-chancellor of the University of Ghana (2010-2016).
