Sharad Kulkarni is an Indian mountaineer. On 23 May 2023, Sharad climbed Mount Everest, aged 60 years and 6 months [1] (for the second time earlier in 2019), becoming the oldest Indian to reach the summit. [2] He became the oldest Indian to climb the Seven Summits.

Wife's death

In 2019, he lost his wife Anjali while climbing Mt. Everest under the Hillary Step, where he abandoned her after her death. [6] [7] [8]

Everest summit

On 22 May 2019, Sharad climbed Mount Everest, aged 60 years and 6 months, [9] becoming the oldest Indian to reach the summit. [10] [11]
