Sharmila Sarkar (born 1 January 1979) is an Indian politician and Member of Parliament. She is a member of All India Trinamool Congress. [1]
Sarkar hails from a poor family of Katwa,Purba Bardhaman district in West Bengal. She passed Madhyamik in 1995 from Agradwip Union High School and entered in Katwa College in 1997. She passed MBBS and MD from R. G. Kar Medical College and started her career in Calcutta Medical College. [2] Presently she lives in Dumdum and serves in Calcutta National Medical College in Kolkata. Sarkar has been elected as a Member of Parliament from Bardhaman Purba Lok Sabha Constituency in West Bengal in the 2024 Indian General Elections. [6] [7] [8]
