Sheree J. Clement (born 8 December 1955, Baltimore) is an American composer. She was President of the League of Composers. [1] She graduated from the University of Michigan [2] [3] and Columbia University. [4] Clement was a Guggenheim fellow, [5] and a MacDowell fellow. [6]
Sheree is known for composing works that align with the Contemporary Classical genre. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She moved to New York and completed a DMA in Music Composition at Colombia University. she would stay at the University and help revamp their music community.
Sheree started her compositional career by composing smaller chamber ensembles focusing her work on motivic material. one of her more famous works from this time is Chamber Concerto, this work was written for seventeen players which can be found at Albany records. [7]
