"Shine" is the title track and only single released from American singer Cyndi Lauper's eighth album Shine .
It was performed for the first time at Vienna, City Hall (Aids Benefit) on June 16, 2001.
This song has been remixed by several people, including Victor Calderone and Tracy Young. It caused the song to be a hit in the clubs.
"Shine" was remixed into a dance track for a climactic fifth-season episode of the American version of Queer as Folk . Lauper appeared as herself to perform the song at the show's "Babylon" dance club. Since then, the performance has been used as a video clip for the song.
The first official release of the song appeared on the Shine E.P. , a 2002 mini album released to counteract heavy infringement of the material on the then-shelved full-length album. The album itself, however, was not released in the U.S. Before the official release of the album (exclusively in Japan), a maxi-single was released for the song, in a variety of formats. This limited edition was only released in the United States. The official name of the single is "Shine Remixes".
Upon its release, Chuck Taylor of Billboard described the song as "mint, vintage Cyndi Lauper" and her "best song in years". He added: "Lauper resonates with both strength and a shimmer of vulnerability - she packs more sentiment into just the word "Shine" than many performers might deliver in an entire aria." [2]

"She Bop" is a song by American singer-songwriter Cyndi Lauper, released as the third single from her debut studio album, She's So Unusual (1983). It reached number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in September 1984. Worldwide, the song is her third most commercially successful single after "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" and "Time After Time", and also reached number 46 on the UK Singles Chart and number six on the ARIA Singles Chart. "She Bop" was Lauper's third consecutive top 5 on the Hot 100. She recorded a quieter version of the song for her 2005 album The Body Acoustic.
"I Drove All Night" is a song written and composed by American songwriters Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly and originally intended for Roy Orbison. Orbison recorded the song in 1987, the year before his death, but his version was not released until 1992. Cyndi Lauper recorded the song and released it as a single for her A Night to Remember album. Her version became a top 10 hit on both sides of the Atlantic in 1989 and was also her final top 40 hit on the American pop charts. Lauper still regularly performs the song in her live concerts. The song has also been covered by Canadian singer Celine Dion, whose version topped the Canadian Singles Chart and reached number 7 on the US Adult Contemporary chart in 2003.

Shine is the eighth studio album by American singer Cyndi Lauper, released exclusively in Japan in 2004. The album was ready for release in 2001 but Edel Records, the label it was recorded with, folded. The leaked tracks from a demonstration disc quickly circulated on the Internet and by 2002 Lauper realized there was no point in trying to release it in a widespread fashion. Two EPs were released instead: One was also called "Shine" and the other was called "Shine Remixes". The "Shine EP" has sold 41,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The album is a collection of dance-oriented songs and features collaborations with Basement Jaxx, Richard Morel, Max Martin and Kleerup, among others. Regarded as one of the singer's best works at the time it was released, the Songwriters Hall of Fame has regarded the album track "High and Mighty" as one of Lauper's key songs.
