Shirley van der Lof (born November 7, 1986, in Haaksbergen, Overijssel) is a racing driver from the Netherlands, and grand daughter of former Formula One-driver Dries van der Lof. [1] Besides her racing career, she has studied "real estate and broking". She strives to become the first Dutch female formula one driver. [2] [3]

Shirley first started driving in go-karts at age 14, and was immediately hooked to the speed. In 2001, at age 15, she won her first go-karting championship. In 2006, she started in the Benelux Formula Ford championship. Her first years in auto racing resulted in a fair number of crashes, but also a fair share of success. [4] [5]

In 2008, she started racing in the ATS Formel 3 Trophy for HS Technik Motorsport in a Dallara F304 OPC Challenge. In the first 8 races of her debut season, she finished on the podium 4 times: two times in 3rd place and two times in 2nd place. In 2019 she tested for W series but was not selected. [6]

Andre "Dries" van der Lof was a racing driver from the Netherlands. Van der Lof was an industrialist whose factory manufactured electric cable, and competed as an amateur in motorsport events. He participated in one World Championship Grand Prix, the 1952 Dutch Grand Prix on 17 August 1952, where together with Jan Flinterman he was the first driver from the Netherlands to compete in a Formula One World Championship race. Entering an HWM 52, he retired from the race after 70 laps and scored no championship points. He later bought a Maserati 250F and competed in historic racing until the 1980s.

Giedo Gijsbertus Gerrit van der Garde is a Dutch former racing driver, who last competed in the 2023 IMSA SportsCar Championship for TDS Racing. He is best known for driving in Formula 1 for the Caterham F1 team in 2013 and joining Sauber as a reserve driver in 2014.

The 2006 Formula 3 Euro Series season was the fourth championship year of Europe’s premier Formula Three series. As in previous years, there were ten rounds – each with two races – held at a variety of European circuits. Each weekend consisted of one 60-minute practice session and one qualifying session, followed by one c.110 km race and one c.80 km race.
