Shirpur airstrip is a small airstrip located in Dhule district in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is not open to the public and is owned and operated by the Shirpur Gold Refinery. [1] [2]

Specifications

The Shirpur Airstrip is located at an elevation of 602 ft (183 m). The runway at this airstrip is 4,300 ft (1,300 m) long with a usable length 4,000 ft (1,200 m). The direction of the runway is 09/27.[ citation needed ] The airstrip is privately owned and operated by the Shirpur Gold Refinery. [3] The runway serves the Tande district in Dhule, Maharashtra.

This airstrip was constructed in 1974 by the Public Works Department and was transferred to the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) after its formation in 2002. The AnerDam Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Shirpur talukas of Dhule district, India. The sanctuary is spread over southwestern side of Satpura hill ranges. This sanctuary is spread around the catchment area of Aner river specially above the high flood level around the Aner Dam. This sanctuary has common boundary with Yawal Wildlife Sanctuary in Jalgaon district and forest area of Khargone district in Madhyapradesh.
