Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande [2] [3] is an IPS Officer of 2006 Batch. He is currently serving as Inspector General- Tirhut Division (Muzaffarpur), Bihar. [4] [5] Earlier, he served as the Deputy Inspector General of Kosi division and Superintendent of Police in Araria, Purnia and Munger districts of Bihar. His tenure as the SP of Patna (Central Region) was quite popular. [6] He arrested many criminals and took action against offenders. Lande was popular as he took strict action against eve-teasers. [7] Shivdeep Lande has been affectionately given many names such as 'Dabbang', 'Singham' and 'The Supercop' by the people. [8]

As per media reports, he donates 60% to 70% of his salary to the sangathan which organizes mass marriages of poor girls and runs coaching classes and a hostel for students in Akola to "Aid Them Realize Their Dreams". [9] [10]

Early life and family

Shivdeep Lande was born on 29 August 1976 in Akola district in the Vidarbha Area of Maharashtra. He was born in a Maharashtrian farmer's family. He married Mamta Shivtare on 2 February 2014, he has a daughter named Arhaa. Mamta Shivtare is the daughter of Vijay Shivtare [11] the Former Minister of State For Water Resources And Water Conservation, and is also the Guardian Minister of Satara District in Maharashtra.

Education and career

Lande received his early education from Saraswati Vidya Mandir High School in his hometown Akola, and his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering, Shegaon in Maharashtra, India. [12] Lande joined the Indian Police Services after completing his training at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. Although he was first selected for Indian Revenue Services, later he joined the Indian Police Service in 2006.

Chandan Kumar Kushwaha is an IPS officer, serving in Bihar. He has previously served as Superintendent of Police (SP) for Bihar's capital city Patna. Kushwaha was later transferred to Banka district as Superintendent of Police. Before being appointed as city SP of Patna, he was serving as SP for the Rohtas district. He was later shifted to Patna, replacing Shivdeep Lande as police superintendent. In 2018, he was raised to the post of Commandant of Home Guards, as a result of which he was recalled from Banka. As per reports, in his sixteen-month service as the head of the police force of Banka, he took stringent measures to reduce the level of crime in the district. He has also served as city SP for Gaya. Kushwaha was investigation incharge of several high profile cases like 2013 Bodhagaya serial blasts and 2016 Bihar Toppers Scam.

Lipi Singh is a 2016 batch Indian Police Service officer, who has served on various significant positions in Bihar Police. Singh is a daughter of former Janata Dal (United) leader, Ramchandra Prasad Singh, who was once considered close to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, before joining Bharatiya Janata Party. She is known primarily for her actions against Bihar politician, Anant Kumar Singh, who was wanted by police in several criminal cases, including murder and possession of harmful weapons. Singh was made investigation incharge of the cases against Anant Singh. She had also served as the Assistant Superintendent of the Anti Terrorist Squad, where she was transferred during 2019 Bihar Lok Sabha elections by Election Commission of India. After the elections, she was reposted as the Sub Divisional Police Officer of Barh. In 2021, she was made Superintendent of Police for Saharsa district. Singh is married to Indian Administrative Service officer, Suharsha Bhagat, a resident of Samastipur district of Bihar.
