Heena Sidhu is an Indian sport shooter. On 7 April 2014, Sidhu became the first Indian pistol shooter to reach number one in world rankings by the International Shooting Sport Federation. In 2013, Sidhu became the first Indian pistol shooter to win a gold medal in an ISSF World Cup finals when she won the 10-metre air pistol event. In 2014, Sidhu was the World record holder in the 10-metre air pistol event with a final score of 203.8. Sidhu is right handed and is right eye dominant.
Kim Yun-mi is a South Korean shooter. She is a member of the national shooting team. She won the gold medal in both the individual and the team competition of 10m air pistol at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou. Her win of a gold medal this time was particularly notable as she was seven months pregnant at the time.
Ip Pui Yi is a Hong Kong female sport shooter. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 10 metre air pistol.
Shooting competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo were originally scheduled from 25 July to 3 August 2020, due to the postponement of the Summer Olympics to 2021, the rescheduled dates were on 24 July to 2 August 2021 at the Asaka Shooting Range. Unlike in 2016, the number of shooters competing across fifteen events at these Games had been reduced from 390 to 360, with an equal distribution between men and women. Furthermore, several significant changes were instituted in the Olympic shooting program, including the substitution of three male-only events, with the mixed team competitions.

This article details the qualifying phase for shooting at the 2016 Summer Olympics. 366 quota places for the Games are entitled to the shooters coming from their respective NOCs, based on the results at designated ISSF supervised Championships subjected to the ISSF rules from August 1, 2014, to March 31, 2016, while the remaining twenty-four are available to the eligible NOCs under the Tripartite Commission Invitation to get a total quota of 390. Host nation Brazil has been guaranteed nine quota places with one in each of the following events: 50 m rifle prone, 25 m rapid fire pistol, 10 m air pistol, 10 m air rifle (women), trap, and skeet.

Esha Singh is an Indian amateur shooter. She became the national champion in the 10m Air Pistol category in 2018 in 2018. She won silver medal at Junior World Cup at Suhl, Germany in 2019, two gold medals at Asian Junior Championships in 10m Air Pistol Women (AP60W) and 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team (APMIX). Besides 10m Air Pistol, she also competes in 25m Standard Pistol and 25m Pistol events. She won the Gold medal in the 25m Pistol team event for India and an individual silver medal in the 25m Pistol event at the Asian Games 2022 held at Gangzhou, China.
Poh Lip Meng was a Singaporean sport shooter who won a gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in the 25 m standard pistol pairs event and at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games in the 50 m free pistol team event.

Furthermore, several significant changes are instituted in the Olympic shooting program, including the new final format and the substitution of the mixed team trap competitions with the mixed team skeet.
Sarabjot Singh is an Indian sport shooter. He competes in the 10m air pistol discipline. He is part of the Indian shooting team at the 2022 Asian Games, Hangzhou, China. Indian 10m air pistol team of Sarabjot Singh, Arjun Singh Cheema and Shiva Narwal beat China to win the gold at the 2022 Asian Games. Sarabjot also won the silver medal for India in the mixed 10m air pistol with Divya T.S. in the Asian Games shooting competitions.
