Yu Ai-Wen (born December 25, 1995) is a Taiwanese female sport shooter. [1] At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 10 metre air pistol.

Yu Ai-wen won gold in FISU World Shooting Sport Championship 2018. [2]

Hou Yu-ih is a Taiwanese politician and former police officer. He has been the incumbent mayor of New Taipei since 25 December 2018. Previously, he served as Director-General of the National Police Agency from 2006 to 2008 and as acting mayor of New Taipei City from October 2015 to January 2016. The Transitional Justice Commission was an independent government agency of the Republic of China (Taiwan) active from 31 May 2018 to 30 May 2022 based on the Act on Promoting Transitional Justice. The commission is responsible for the investigation of actions taken by the Kuomintang between 15 August 1945 and 6 November 1992. The commission's main aims include: making political archives more readily available, removing authoritarian symbols, redressing judicial injustice, and producing a report on the history of the period which delineates steps to further promote transitional justice.

The mixed doubles soft tennis event was part of the soft tennis programme and took place between August 29 and 30, at the Jakabaring Sport City Tennis Court. Yu Kai-wen and Cheng Chu-ling of Chinese Taipei won the gold medal in this event.

Lin Ying-shin is a Taiwanese sports shooter. She won her first gold medal at the 2018 ISSF World Cup in Munich in the 10 m air rifle. Lin started off the 2018 season by winning a Junior World Cup silver medal in Sydney, and then claimed a silver in the open category at the ISSF World Cup stage 2 in Changwon. Lin competed at the 2018 Asian Games, and claimed the first gold medal for the Chinese Taipei contingent after finished in the first place in the mixed 10 metre air rifle team event partnered with Lu Shao-chuan. She finished third at the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup in 2019, guaranteeing a place at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Presidential elections were held in Taiwan on 11 January 2020 alongside Legislative Yuan election. Incumbent president Tsai Ing-wen and former premier Lai Ching-te of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) won the election, defeating Kaohsiung mayor Han Kuo-yu of the Kuomintang (KMT) and his running mate Chang San-cheng, as well as third-party candidate James Soong.

Lin Yu-ting is a Taiwanese amateur boxer. She has won two gold medals at the IBA World Boxing Championships, in addition to two gold medals at the Asian Games and one at the Asian Amateur Boxing Championships. She competed for Taiwan at the 2024 Summer Olympics where she defeated Julia Szeremeta of Poland in the final of the women's 57 kg category (featherweight). Lin is the first Taiwanese boxer to win an Olympic gold medal.

Wen Tzu-yun is a Taiwanese karateka. At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, she won one of the bronze medals in the women's 55 kg event. Wen is also a two-time gold medalist in the women's kumite 55 kg event at the Asian Games and a two-time bronze medalist in this event at the World Karate Championships.

Local elections were held in Taiwan on 26 November and 18 December 2022 to elect county magistrates, county (city) councilors, township mayors, township councilors and chiefs of village (borough) in 6 municipalities and 16 counties (cities). Elected officials would serve a four-year term. The election was held alongside the 2022 Taiwanese constitutional referendum.
