Sian Charlesworth (born 17 January 1987 in Bolton) is an English singer and former member of girl group Parade.

Career

City Girls

In 2007, Charlesworth took part in the auditions with the producers Kim Glover and Samantha Forrest to become a member of a new girl group. [1] Charlesworth was chosen to become a member of the "City Girls" (initially called "Stiletto"). The group was formed by Charlesworth and other three girls: Sheena Rowe, Sophie Leniston and Rebecca Doran. City Girls released their first single "O.M.G." in August 2008. [2] The single was written by Darren Monson, Jay Raser and Sheena Rowe, and was produced by Pete Hammond and Jay Raser. The single reached number 3 in the UK Music Week Pop/Club Charts and reached No. 40 in the Bulgarian chart. The group started a promotional tour including a number of performances, appearances on television, radio and newspapers. The song was used as the soundtrack of the video game, Imagine Girl Band. [3] In the beginning of 2009, Charlesworth and Doran left the group and were replaced by Claudia Evans.

BVG

In 2009, Charlesworth was also a member of a vocal group called "BVG". They did a number of gigs but they did not release recording material.[ citation needed ]

Parade

In 2010, she became a member of the new British girl group Parade, featuring Jessica Agombar, Emily Biggs, Bianca Claxton and Lauren Deegan. [4] Their debut single "Louder" was released on 13 March 2011, which consequently entered in the UK Singles Chart at number 10, [5] and in the Irish Singles Chart at number 41. Parade supported Shakira on the English dates for her 2010 The Sun Comes Out World tour. They also supported Alexandra Burke on her All Night Long 2011 tour, and Shayne Ward on his 2011 Up Close and Personal tour. Their second single "Perfume" was released on 19 June 2011 and charted at number 38 in the UK. Their self-titled debut album was released in November 2011 but failed to chart within the top 100, peaking at a low No. 171. Due to the poor sales of the album, Parade were dropped from Asylum Records.

The group spent 2012 working on their second studio album. They collaborated with successful UK producer Tim Powell, who has written and produced for the likes of Girls Aloud and Sugababes, on tracks including "Light Me Up". According to Twitter posts, they also worked with Ed Drewett, Fred Ball, MNEK, K-Gee, Jamal Hadaway and Tre Jean-Marie.[ citation needed ] [6]

On 11 July 2012, through their official blog, they announced "Light Me Up" as the first song to be posted online from their new album. [7] It was released as a free download on 1 August 2012.

On 11 February 2013, it was announced through the group's Twitter account that Claxton had decided to leave Parade, and that as a result, the other members had decided not to continue as a group. [8] They also revealed that they were unsigned throughout 2012 to 2013, after being dropped by their record label in 2011. They released an official statement on the subject of their split:

"Dear Fans, we have some news that we're gutted to announce – sadly Bianca has chosen to leave the band. As you all know, the 5 of us make Parade and without all of us together the band would not be the same! We hope you understand that we've made the difficult decision to not carry on without her, as Parade is about the 5 of us girls. We cannot thank our fans enough for your incredible support as without you lot we wouldn't have achieved the success that we've had. In the last year as an unsigned band, we've written and recorded some wicked tracks and as a thank you we'd like to give something back for your love and patience. Watch our facebook page for more information. Thank you for coming on this rollercoaster of a ride with us and look out for us in the future! Love Parade x"

In February 2013, a SoundCloud account under the username "user123330693" leaked a previously unreleased track called "Lose It" which was originally intended to be included on their debut album. The song was reportedly produced by RedOne and heavily samples Reel 2 Real's "I Like To Move It". At a later date the account debuted 4 more new tracks recorded for their unreleased second album called "Chaos", "(Come) On The Double" and "Puppet Master (Dance For Me)". In early March "Throw It Up in the Air", which was part of their setlist for their UK tour when supporting The Wanted, was also released via the SoundCloud user.

Sugababes are a British girl group, composed of founding members Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhán Donaghy. Formed in 1998 by All Saints manager Ron Tom, they released their debut album One Touch through London Records in November 2000, which achieved moderate success and spawned the top ten single "Overload". In Autumn 2001, Donaghy departed the group and was replaced by Heidi Range. With Range's introduction, the group began to experience a higher level of commercial success, going on to release three multi-Platinum selling albums: Angels with Dirty Faces (2002), Three (2003) and Taller in More Ways (2005). In December 2005, Buena left the band and was replaced by Amelle Berrabah. Following the release of their first greatest hits album, the new line-up released two further studio albums: Change (2007) and Catfights and Spotlights (2008).

Boyzone Irish boyband, founded 1993

Boyzone were an Irish boy band. They were put together in 1993 by Louis Walsh, who is also known for managing Johnny Logan and Westlife. Before even recording any material, Boyzone made an appearance on RTÉ's The Late Late Show. Their most famous line-up was composed of Keith Duffy, Stephen Gately, Mikey Graham, Ronan Keating, and Shane Lynch. As of 2018, Boyzone have released seven studio albums and nine compilation albums.

Blue (English group) English boy band

Blue is an English boy band consisting of members Antony Costa, Duncan James, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe. The group originally formed in 2000 and has released three studio albums, All Rise (2001), One Love (2002) and Guilty (2003) that all peaked at number one in the United Kingdom alongside releasing 16 singles, over a four-year period. "Thank You for the Music" is a song by the Swedish pop group ABBA. It was originally featured on the group's fifth studio album The Album (1977), and was released as a double-A sided single with "Eagle" in May 1978 in limited territories, namely Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and Australia. In South Africa where it peaked at number 2 in August 1978 and became the eighteenth best-selling single of that year.

The Saturdays British girl group

The Saturdays is a British-Irish girl group based in London, England. The group formed during the summer of 2007 and have been on hiatus since 2014. The lineup consists of Frankie Bridge, Una Healy, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King, and Vanessa White. They were formed through Fascination Records, a sub-division of Polydor Records, who gave them an instant record deal with the label. As soon as the contract was finalised, the Saturdays went on tour with Girls Aloud during their Tangled Up Tour. The group's music style is pop, but throughout their career, their management has experimented with dance-pop and electropop. Songwriters and producers Ina Wroldsen, Steve Mac, Camille Purcell, and Quiz & Larossi have helped create their music. In July 2008, the Saturdays released their debut single and first Top Ten hit, "If This Is Love". Their debut album, Chasing Lights, released the same year, charted at number nine on the UK Albums Chart; it was certified platinum by the BPI and produced three more top ten singles: "Up", "Issues", and "Just Can't Get Enough". "Work" was also released from the album. The group's first concert tour, The Work Tour, took place in 2009. The group's second album, Wordshaker, produced the Top Ten hits "Forever Is Over" and "Ego". In 2010, the Saturdays released a mini album, Headlines!, which contained the top 10 hits "Missing You" and "Higher", the latter of which featured guest vocals from Flo Rida. JLS English pop/R&B group formed in 2007

JLS are an English boyband, which consists of members Aston Merrygold, Oritsé Williams, Marvin Humes, and JB Gill, originally formed by Williams. They initially signed to Tracklacers production company New Track City and then went on to become runners-up of the fifth series of the ITV reality talent show The X Factor in 2008, coming second to Alexandra Burke. Following their appearance on The X Factor, JLS signed to Epic Records. Their first two singles "Beat Again" and "Everybody in Love" both went to number one on the UK Singles Chart.

Wonderland (band) Irish girlband

Wonderland were an Irish girlband, formed by Louis Walsh and Westlife band-member Kian Egan. The band were put together after auditions were held for five females in July 2008. Its five members were Jodi Albert, Sharon Condon, Corrina Durran, Leigh Learmont, and Kasey Smith. Wonderland's debut single "Not a Love Song" was released on 25 February 2011 in Ireland and on 6 March 2011 in the United Kingdom. Their eponymous debut album was released on 6 June 2011, the same day as their second single, "Starlight". Wonderland released their third single, "Nothing Moves Me Anymore", in August 2011. The following month, it was announced the band had been dropped by their record label. The group later decided to split up.

Matt Cardle English singer

Matthew Sheridan Cardle is an English singer and songwriter. Cardle was born in Southampton and grew up in Halstead, Essex. Cardle has been involved in music since his early teens and has been a member of two different bands; Darwyn and Seven Summers. Cardle rose to fame after winning the seventh series of The X Factor, and received a £1 million recording contract with Syco Music and later signed a deal with Columbia Records.

Parade were a British five piece girl group, who were formerly signed to Asylum Records. The band had five members: Emily Biggs, Lauren Deegan, Bianca Claxton, Jessica Agombar and Sian Charlesworth. On 11 February 2013, it was confirmed via the Parade Twitter account the group had split following the departure of Bianca Claxton. Agombar and Claxton have embarked on solo careers, with Agombar releasing the tracks "Bam Bam" and "Bam Bam Pt. 2" in 2014. Claxton released her debut EP Hi-5 on 17 May 2015 and entered the selection for the UK Eurovision Song Content entry in 2016. Agombar releasing her debut EP later in 2015; with Claxton releasing her debut album in the not-too-near future. Agombar has since found success as a songwriter, co-writing I Love You's for Hailee Steinfeld, What a Man Gotta Do for Jonas Brothers and Dynamite for K-pop boy group BTS, which reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and internationally.

On Your Radar is the third studio album by British-Irish girl group The Saturdays. The album was released 21 November 2011 under Fascination Records. The album was recorded in London, New York City, Oslo and Stockholm. Steve Mac, who has been instrumental in the production of the band's previous albums, serves as a major collaborator. Additional producers and songwriters include Lucas Secon, Taio Cruz, Labrinth, Tracklacers, Space Cowboy, Brian Higgins and Lucie Silvas.

Little Mix British girl group

Marcus Collins is an English singer who finished as the runner-up of the eighth series of The X Factor in 2011. Collins finished second to 4-piece girlband Little Mix. Whilst on The X Factor, he was mentored by Take That frontman Gary Barlow, who continued to work with Collins on his debut album.

Living for the Weekend is the fourth and most recent studio album by British girl group the Saturdays. It was first released on 11 October 2013, and in the United Kingdom on 14 October 2013, by Fascination Records and its associated record labels. Living for the Weekend was recorded between 2011 and 2013 in Los Angeles, London and New York City. Longtime collaborator Steve Mac returned to work on the album, as well as enlisting a wide range of new producers and writers including Rodney Jerkins, Autumn Rowe, Diane Warren, Carl Ryden, DNA Songs, David Schuler, Priscilla Renea, Camille Purcell, Jim Jonsin and many more. The album was preceded by their first US release, an EP called Chasing the Saturdays.
